The 2027 Valentine's Day ad calendar
Valentine's ads are short-lived: four weeks of gift ads, a hard stop at the shipping cutoff, then two days of last-minute buyers. Most of the mistakes are about dates, not design. Plan backwards from these:
| Date (2027) | What happens | What it means for your ads |
|---|---|---|
| Mon, Jan 11 to Fri, Jan 15 | Valentine's ads made, checked and uploaded with start dates | Meta reviews most ads within 24 hours, and any change to an ad's creative starts a new review. Load the gift ads, the order-by ads and the after-cutoff ads in one go. |
| Mon, Jan 18 | Gift ads start, four weeks out | Early buyers compare. Give them the proof up front: a review, the materials, the price, and who the gift suits. |
| Wed, Feb 3 to Sun, Feb 7 | Our five sample stores' last order days for ground delivery by Sat, Feb 13 | Each store's date is the carrier's slow end minus its own packing time (table below). The order-by ads stop the morning after. |
| Mon, Feb 8 | Last day to send by USPS Ground Advantage if you plan for its slow end: 5 delivery days, Tue to Sat | After today a ground parcel may not make Saturday. Switch to faster paid shipping, local pickup or an e-gift card. |
| Wed, Feb 10 | Last day to send Priority Mail if you plan for 3 days | Worth one ad only if your checkout sells Priority Mail; put the shipping price in the ad. |
| Sat, Feb 13 | The last regular delivery day before Valentine's, and Galentine's Day for many | Friend-gift ads have their day. Physical delivery promises are over: e-gift cards and local pickup take over. |
| Sun, Feb 14 | Valentine's Day | Keep the e-gift card ad running. USPS offers Sunday delivery with Priority Mail Express in many major markets, for an extra fee. |
| Mon, Feb 15 | Presidents' Day (Washington's Birthday), a federal holiday | In 2026, UPS said its Ground Saver and Mail Innovations parcels needed one extra day in transit for the USPS holiday. Self-gift ads start. |
| Tue, Feb 16 to Sun, Feb 28 | After Valentine's | Ads for people buying for themselves, at everyday prices and without Valentine's words. |
What the carriers published for Valentine's Day 2026
Unlike Christmas, we found no Valentine's send-by dates from USPS, UPS or FedEx. What they publish is which days they work and how long each service takes. Here is last year's, so you know what to look for when the 2027 pages appear:
| Carrier | Valentine's Day 2026 (Sat, Feb 14) | Presidents' Day 2026 (Mon, Feb 16) |
|---|---|---|
| USPS | No Valentine's send-by dates that we could find. Its delivery times: Ground Advantage 2 to 5 days, Priority Mail 2 to 3 days, Priority Mail Express 1 to 3 days with a money-back guarantee | A federal holiday. Priority Mail Express offers Sunday and holiday delivery in many major markets for an extra fee |
| UPS | Pickup and delivery available; The UPS Store locations open | Pickup and delivery available, but Ground Saver and Mail Innovations parcels needed one more day in transit because of the USPS holiday |
| FedEx | Open | Modified service: early pickups and drop box pickups in some areas |
Two things follow for 2027. With Valentine's on a Sunday, plan for Saturday delivery and treat Sunday as a bonus you'd have to pay for. And if you ship with a service that hands the last mile to USPS, Presidents' Day can add a day for parcels still in transit on Monday.
Your order-by date for Saturday, February 13
The date in your ad is the carrier's slow end minus the days you need to pick, pack and hand over an order. Our five sample stores worked it out from USPS Ground Advantage's 5-day end (ship by Monday, Feb 8):
| Store | How fast it ships | Order-by date in its ads |
|---|---|---|
| Gilt Harbor (jewelry) | Next business day | Sun, Feb 7 |
| Bowfinch (gift boxes) | Within 1 business day | Sun, Feb 7 |
| Brindlewood (chocolate) | 2 business days to pack | Thu, Feb 4 |
| Pip & Oak (candles) | 2 business days to wrap and pack | Thu, Feb 4 |
| Orsolune (perfume) | 3 business days, and perfume ships by ground only | Wed, Feb 3 |
Using the slow end costs you a few days of sales and buys you a promise you can keep. If most of your orders go to nearby states, your own tracking data may let you set a later date: check last year's delivery times before you do.
Six Valentine's offers and the products they suit
A Valentine's buyer is choosing for someone whose taste they're guessing. The offers that work make the guess safer or the gift more personal, more often than they cut the price.
| Offer | Suits | The ad must show | Watch out |
|---|---|---|---|
| An order-by date for Saturday delivery | Anything you ship | "Order by Sun, Feb 7 for US delivery by Sat, Feb 13" | Count from the carrier's slow end, and switch the ad off the next morning |
| A price for two | Candles, chocolate, socks: things people buy a pair of | The total ("2 for $56") and your everyday price | "Usually" must be the price you really charge |
| A free gift with purchase | Perfume, skincare: things people want to try first | What the gift is and what it sells for on its own | The item they buy stays at its regular price, and the conditions sit next to the offer |
| Sent to them, with your note | Gift boxes, long-distance couples | That it ships to the recipient and what they'll find inside | Check that checkout really takes a second address and a message |
| Returns past Feb 14 | Jewelry, clothing, anything chosen for someone else | The order dates it covers and the return-by date | "Free returns" alone doesn't say whether March counts |
| An e-gift card on Feb 13 and 14 | Every store | That it arrives by email, today | Never imply a physical delivery after your cutoff |
Honest note: in the US a "usually" price has to be one you really charged for a reasonably substantial period (FTC Guides Against Deceptive Pricing, 16 CFR 233.1), and a "free" item means the thing they buy is at its regular price, with the conditions stated next to the offer, not behind an asterisk (FTC guide on the word "free", 16 CFR 251.1).
Partner, friends or yourself: three Valentine's buyers
One Valentine's ad rarely fits all three people who buy in February. Each needs its own line and its own proof:
| Buyer | What they worry about | What the ad should say |
|---|---|---|
| Buying for a partner | Choosing wrong, and the gift arriving late | Who it suits, one detail they'll notice, the order-by date and the return-by date |
| Buying for friends (Galentine's, Sat, Feb 13) | Spending a lot on several people | A price per gift or a price for two, and a lighter, funnier tone |
| Buying for themselves | Nothing much: they just need a reason | The everyday price and the product's best detail, with no Valentine's words at all |
The self-gift ad is the easiest to forget and the one that can keep running after February 14. Schedule it to start on Monday, February 15, when the gift ads stop.
Valentine's copy lines you can adapt
Replace the brackets with your own facts. Lines with a date, a number or a real detail stand out in a February feed full of hearts.
- Order by [Sun, Feb 7] for delivery by Sat, Feb 13.
- Not sure it's her style? Returns until [Mar 14].
- Two scents, one night in. [2 for $56].
- Free [10 ml travel spray] with every [50 ml] bottle.
- Sent to them, with your note. No prices inside.
- [4 bars], [$30]. Share them, or don't.
- Missed the post? An e-gift card arrives today.
Skip "almost gone", countdown timers and "last chance" unless your stock or your calendar backs them. An order-by date does the same job and stays true.
Meta review, edits and keeping it tasteful
- Upload every Valentine's ad in mid-January, each with its start and end date: gift ads, order-by ads, the after-cutoff ad and the self-gift ad. Meta says most ads are reviewed within 24 hours, though some take longer.
- Don't edit live ads to change the date. A change to an ad's creative, text or link starts a new review; changes to budget or schedule don't. Swap ads by schedule.
- Keep ad sets steady in February. Meta's learning phase ends after about 50 results in the week after an ad set's last significant edit, and adding a new ad counts as one.
- Romantic is fine; explicit isn't. Meta's Advertising Standards don't allow ads with imagery of adult nudity or sexual activity, and a feed ad doesn't need it: the product, a detail and the right words carry the mood.
Design at 4:5 (1440 x 1800) for feeds and 9:16 (1440 x 2560) for Stories and Reels, with the order-by date clear of the top and bottom of the story frame. More: Meta ad sizes.
Valentine's ideas by product
Each product has its own Valentine's problem: jewelry has to suit, chocolate has to stand out from the red boxes, a candle photo has to be safe, perfume can't be smelled first and can't fly, and a gift box goes to someone the buyer won't see open it. These pages work through each one with three sample ads:
- Valentine's Day jewelry ads: Gilt Harbor, a gift box, a note and returns until March 14.
- Valentine's Day chocolate ads: Brindlewood, any 4 bars for $30.
- Valentine's Day candle ads: Pip & Oak, 2 candles for $56.
- Valentine's Day perfume ads: Orsolune, a free travel spray with every bottle.
- Valentine's Day gift ads: Bowfinch, a box sent straight to them with your note.

Making Valentine's ads with StoreToAds
In Your brief, set the goal to "seasonal", the occasion to "Valentine's Day", and type the offer exactly as it runs, order-by date included. Every ad in the batch carries it, and the fact check accepts it because you stated it. Prices, ratings and review quotes still come from your store and are checked as always. Put words you never want, like "guaranteed delivery", in Never say.
Each ad comes in all five sizes, and ads can go to Meta as paused ads, so nothing spends until you publish. See pricing, or read how we build holiday ads the rest of the year.
