The 2027 Mother's Day ad calendar
Mother's Day ads follow the same shape as Valentine's: four weeks of gift ads that end at a shipping cutoff a few days before the Sunday, then two days for last-minute buyers. Plan backwards from these:
| Date (2027) | What happens | What it means for your ads |
|---|---|---|
| Mon, Apr 5 to Fri, Apr 9 | Mother's Day ads made, checked and uploaded with start dates | Meta reviews most ads within 24 hours; some take longer. A creative change starts a new review, so load every version now: gift ads, order-by ads, the after-cutoff ad. |
| Mon, Apr 12 | Gift ads start, four weeks out | Lead with who the gift is for and why she'll use it. People sending to a mom far away plan ahead. |
| Thu, Apr 29 to Sun, May 2 | Our four sample stores' last order days for ground delivery by Sat, May 8 | Each store's date is the carrier's slow end minus its packing time (table below). |
| Mon, May 3 | Last day to send by USPS Ground Advantage if you plan for its slow end: 5 delivery days, Tue to Sat | From tomorrow, stop promising Mother's Day delivery on ground orders. |
| Wed, May 5 | Last day to send Priority Mail if you plan for 3 days | One ad for faster paid shipping, with its price, if your checkout sells it. |
| Sat, May 8 | The last regular delivery day before Mother's Day | E-gift cards, local pickup and "it'll arrive next week, with a card today" ads take over. |
| Sun, May 9 | Mother's Day (US) | Keep the e-gift card ad live. In 2026, UPS listed no pickup or delivery on Mother's Day. |
| Mon, May 10 to Sun, May 23 | After Mother's Day | Late-gift and self-gift ads at everyday prices, with no Mother's Day words. |
| Mon, May 31 | Memorial Day, a federal holiday | The next sale weekend. Start planning it before the Mother's Day ads end. |
What the carriers published for Mother's Day 2026
We found no Mother's Day send-by dates from USPS, UPS or FedEx, unlike at Christmas. Their 2026 holiday schedules show what to expect on the day itself:
| Carrier | Mother's Day 2026 (Sun, May 10) | Delivery times to count with |
|---|---|---|
| USPS | No Mother's Day send-by dates that we could find. Priority Mail Express offers Sunday delivery in many major markets for an extra fee | Ground Advantage 2 to 5 days, Priority Mail 2 to 3 days (expected), Priority Mail Express 1 to 3 days (guaranteed) |
| UPS | No pickup or delivery; The UPS Store locations may be closed | Its own transit-time calculator for each address |
| FedEx | Open | Its own transit times; the day is listed as a normal operating day |
For 2027 that means: plan for Saturday, May 8, treat Sunday delivery as a paid extra where it exists at all, and check each carrier's 2027 schedule in April before you print a date.
Your order-by date for Saturday, May 8
Our four sample stores counted back from USPS Ground Advantage's 5-day end (send by Monday, May 3), minus their own packing time:
| Store | How fast it ships | Order-by date in its ads |
|---|---|---|
| Gilt Harbor (jewelry) | Next business day | Sun, May 2 |
| Bowfinch (gift boxes) | Within 1 business day | Sun, May 2 |
| Mira (skincare) | 2 business days to pack | Thu, Apr 29 |
| Pip & Oak (candles) | 2 business days to wrap and pack | Thu, Apr 29 |
A Mother's Day gift often goes to a different address from the buyer's. If yours does, the order-by date has to work for the farthest place you ship to, not for the buyer's own city.
Six Mother's Day offers and the products they suit
| Offer | Suits | The ad must show | Watch out |
|---|---|---|---|
| An order-by date for Saturday delivery | Anything you ship | "Order by Sun, May 2 for US delivery by Sat, May 8" | Count from the slow end, and stop the ad the next morning |
| Shipped straight to her, wrapped, with your note | Candles, gift boxes, anything sent from far away | The wrap or the note in the photo, and that it goes to her address | Check checkout takes a second address and a message |
| A free gift with purchase | Skincare, beauty: a second product she may not try otherwise | What the gift is and what it sells for alone | The item they buy stays at its regular price; conditions next to the offer |
| A matching pair | Jewelry: one for her, one for you | The price for two next to the single price ("2 for $96, usually $116") | "Usually" must be your real everyday price |
| A saving on two gifts | Gift boxes: Mom and Grandma, or Mom and a mother-in-law | The saving and what it applies to | Say whether both go to one address or two |
| An e-gift card after the cutoff | Every store | That it arrives by email, today | Never imply a physical delivery after your cutoff |
Honest note: a "usually" price has to be one you really charged (FTC Guides Against Deceptive Pricing, 16 CFR 233.1), and a "free" item means the product they buy is at its regular price, with the conditions next to the offer (FTC guide on the word "free", 16 CFR 251.1).
Moms, grandmothers and everyone in between
"Mom" covers more people than an ad usually shows. Each buyer below is real, and each needs a slightly different line:
| Buying for | What helps the buyer | A line that fits |
|---|---|---|
| A mom far away | Shipping to her address, a note in the buyer's words | "Sent to her, with your note." |
| A grandmother | Something easy to use and lovely to open | "For Grandma, wrapped and ready." |
| A mother-in-law or stepmom | A safe, tasteful choice | "A gift she'll actually use." |
| A new mom | Something just for her, not the baby | "Something for you this time." |
| Herself | Permission and the everyday price | "Treat yourself. You know what you like." |
Not everyone celebrates
For some people Mother's Day is hard: a mom who has died, a difficult relationship, trying to become a mother. A small brand can be warm without assuming:
- Write for the buyer who is sending something, not for everyone scrolling past. "Sent to her, with your note" works; an order to the reader like "Call your mom!" can sting. A line written as the buyer's own plan (a to-do list, as in one of Pip & Oak's ads) speaks only for them.
- Avoid guilt and pressure. "Don't forget Mom" or "Show her she matters" turns a gift into an obligation.
- If you also run email, offer an opt-out from Mother's Day messages a few weeks ahead. It costs a few sends and earns real goodwill.
- Keep the self-gift ad. Many people buy for themselves in May, for every reason.
Mother's Day copy lines you can adapt
Replace the brackets with your own facts. A date, a number or a real detail does more than a big word like "amazing".
- Order by [Sun, May 2] for delivery by Sat, May 8.
- Sent to her, wrapped, with your note.
- One for her, one for you. [2 for $96].
- Free [Gentle Gel Cleanser] with every [serum]. A [$24] value.
- Mom and Grandma: [$10 off] two boxes.
- Far away this Mother's Day? An e-gift card arrives today.
Skip "almost gone" and countdown timers unless your stock or calendar backs them, and skip "the perfect gift for every mom": no one believes it.
Mother's Day ideas by product
Each product needs its own approach: jewelry sells best as a pair or a keepsake, skincare has claims to keep out of the ad, a candle photo has to be safe, and a gift box goes to an address the buyer won't see. These pages work through each with three sample ads:
- Mother's Day jewelry ads: Gilt Harbor, a matching pair for her and you.
- Mother's Day skincare ads: Mira, a free cleanser with the serum.
- Mother's Day candle ads: Pip & Oak, wrapped and shipped straight to her.
- Mother's Day gift ads: Bowfinch, $10 off two boxes for Mom and Grandma.

Making Mother's Day ads with StoreToAds
In Your brief, set the goal to "seasonal", the occasion to "Mother's Day", and type the offer exactly as it runs, order-by date included. Every ad in the batch carries it, and the fact check accepts it because you stated it. Prices, ratings and review quotes still come from your store and are checked. Put words you never want in Never say: "guaranteed delivery", or any claim your product page can't back.
Each ad comes in all five sizes, and ads can go to Meta as paused ads, so nothing spends until you publish. See pricing, or read how we build seasonal ads all year.
