Valentine's offers that suit jewelry
| Offer | The doubt it removes | What the ad shows |
|---|---|---|
| Returns past Valentine's (Gilt Harbor's choice) | "What if it isn't her style?" | The return-by date in words, and which orders it covers |
| A gift box and a handwritten note | "Will it look like a present when it arrives?" | The box in the photo, and one line about the note |
| Engraving | "Is it personal enough?" | A finished example, and its own earlier order-by date, because engraving adds days |
| A pair for friends | "Can I get my best friend something too?" | A price for two pieces next to the single price, aimed at Galentine's on Saturday, February 13 |
Gilt Harbor keeps its everyday $58 and the $72 compare-at price it already shows; it doesn't add a Valentine's discount on top. Its reason to buy now is the date, the box and the returns window.
Photos and claims for a Valentine's jewelry ad
- Show the real size. A 12 mm hoop fills the frame in a macro shot and looks huge. Put one photo on an ear, or print the size on the ad: Gilt Harbor does one of each, a worn shot and a 12 mm callout.
- Show it boxed. The buyer is picturing the moment it's opened. A photo of the piece in its box answers that faster than the word "gift".
- Name the metal exactly. "18k gold vermeil on 925 sterling silver", not "gold". In the US, vermeil and sterling have set meanings (FTC Jewelry Guides, 16 CFR 23.4 and 23.5); our Christmas jewelry page has the table.
- Skip forever claims. "Never tarnishes" or "lasts forever" need proof you can show. Say what your page says instead: Gilt Harbor's hoops are "shower and swim safe" with a 1-year warranty.
- Sensitive ears are a real worry. "Hypoallergenic" and "nickel-free" belong in the ad only if your product page backs them, as Gilt Harbor's does.
The Valentine's calendar for jewelry brands
| Date (2027) | What happens | What it means for your ads |
|---|---|---|
| Mon, Jan 18 | Gift ads start | Lead with the box and the returns window. People choosing jewelry for someone else start early and compare. |
| Your engraving cutoff | Personalized pieces stop, a few days before the main date | Engraved jewelry needs its own ad with its own, earlier order-by date. Never let it share the main one. |
| Sun, Feb 7 | Gilt Harbor's last order day for delivery by Sat, Feb 13 | Its order-by ads stop the next morning; the returns-window ads keep running because they're still true. |
| Mon, Feb 8 | USPS Ground Advantage, sent at the 5-day slow end | Gilt Harbor ships the next business day, so a Sunday order leaves Monday and still has five delivery days. |
| Wed, Feb 10 to Fri, Feb 12 | Only faster paid services can still make Saturday | Jewelry is small and light, so express shipping costs less than for most gifts. If you sell it, one ad can say so, with the price. |
| Sat, Feb 13 | Galentine's Day | Friend-gift ads: smaller pieces, a price for two, a playful line. |
| Sun, Feb 14 | Valentine's Day | An e-gift card with a printable card design is the only gift that arrives today. |
| Mon, Feb 15 to Sun, Mar 14 | The returns window, and people buying for themselves | Self-purchase ads at the everyday price. Until March 14 the returns line stays true in every ad. |
Valentine's jewelry captions and lines
Search shows people asking for good jewelry captions. The ones that work in a Valentine's feed carry a fact, not a feeling:
- Gold she can shower in. Boxed with a handwritten note.
- Not sure it's her style? Returns until Mar 14.
- Everyday huggies. Valentine's box. $58.
- 18k gold vermeil on 925 sterling silver. Nickel-free.
- "My go-to gift now." 4.9 from 1,042 reviews.
- Order by Sun, Feb 7. Free shipping.
Lines to skip: "solid gold" for vermeil or plated pieces, "she'll never take them off" (a customer can say it in a review; you can't promise it), "diamond-like" or "looks like real gold" (both invite the question of what it really is).
Rings and proposals need a different ad
If you sell engagement or promise rings, a Valentine's ring ad has jobs a hoop ad doesn't: sizing, lead time and what happens if the size is wrong. Put the sizing method (a printable sizer or a free ring sizer by mail), the resizing policy and the made-to-order time on the ad or the first line of the caption, and give rings their own order-by date. A ring that arrives on February 15 is a worse outcome than a missed gift.
