Why 4:5 earns the space
At the same width, a 4:5 image is a quarter taller than a square. In a scrolling feed that extra height is room for a proper headline, a large product and a line of proof, stacked top to bottom in the order people read. Meta's Ads Guide recommends 4:5 for Facebook Feed images, and Instagram's feed shows it at full height.
Meta's help center now lists 1440 x 1800 as the recommended minimum for 4:5 in Facebook Feed (1080 x 1080 for Instagram Feed). Our 4:5 files are 1080 x 1350, the common feed size Meta accepts.
What we check on every 4:5
Before a 4:5 ad is delivered, it goes through layout checks and a fact check:
- No text sitting on top of the product, and no text running off the canvas.
- Text kept away from the edges, and never smaller than our minimum size.
- Enough contrast between the words and whatever is behind them.
- Every price, rating, review count and quote matched to your store. Quotes are word for word.
Ads that fail are fixed and checked again, or left out. An ad that never passes is not delivered and not charged.
Anatomy of a 4:5 ad
Mira, our fictional sample skincare brand, shows the classic order: the promise at the top, the real bottle in the middle with its actives called out, and the price and button at the bottom.
