how to advertise phone cases
How to advertise phone cases without drowning in phone models
A phone case is a cheap, quick buy with one unforgiving rule: it has to fit the exact phone. That turns advertising them into a sorting job as much as a creative one. Every ad has to say which models it's for, the budget has to survive a low price, and the design or the protection has to be obvious within a second of scrolling.

In short
How do you advertise phone cases?
Pick a lane, design or protection, and show it on a real phone in hand in short vertical video. Name the exact models in every ad, start on TikTok and Meta, add Google Shopping for model searches, and bundle a screen protector so each order can carry the ad cost of a low-priced product.
At a glance
- The first question
- Does it fit my phone? Name the model on the ad.
- Where to start
- TikTok and Meta, with the case on a real phone in hand
- The price problem
- A low ticket, so bundles carry the ad cost
- Two lanes
- Design cases sell a look; protective cases sell proof
- Rule to know
- Phone brands' names only to say what a case fits
Which channels fit phone cases, in the order to try them
A case is bought in a moment and judged by how it looks on the phone and in the hand. Video channels sell that moment; search catches the people who already know their model and want one now.
- 01
TikTok
Start hereWhy it fits
Cases make natural ten-second clips: the snap-on, the outfit match, the drop onto a sidewalk, the close-up of the camera ring. Designs travel there faster than anywhere else.
The trade-off
Novelty is the currency, so a clip that works rarely works for long, and a design that takes off gets copied quickly.
- 02
Meta (Facebook and Instagram)
Start hereWhy it fits
Reels and Stories reach the same impulse buyer, with purchase tracking most small stores already have. Catalog ads can bring a viewer back to the exact model and color they looked at.
The trade-off
Catalog ads need a clean feed where every variant names the model, and a low order value makes the learning phase costly (see the budget section).
- 03
Google Shopping
Add nextWhy it fits
Model searches are precise: "clear case for iPhone 16 Pro with MagSafe", "Galaxy S25 wallet case". Shopping matches those words to your feed and shows the case and price.
The trade-off
Marketplace sellers compete hard on price there, and a title that doesn't lead with the model rarely shows for the searches that matter.
- 04
Creators and gifting
Add nextWhy it fits
For design-led cases, a creator matching a case to an outfit or a desk setup is the ad. Gifting costs little because the product does.
The trade-off
Ask which phone a creator uses before you send anything, require a #ad disclosure, and get written permission to reuse their clip in ads.
- 05
Amazon
Only if it fitsWhy it fits
Protective cases with strong reviews can do well there, because buyers search by model and sort by rating.
The trade-off
Listings are crowded with low-cost cases, a new listing starts with no reviews, and fees take a large share of a $25 sale.
- 06
Pinterest
Add laterWhy it fits
Art, floral and pattern cases get saved as part of aesthetic boards, and a 2:3 pin of the case with matching accessories suits that.
The trade-off
Only design-led cases benefit, and saves turn into sales slowly.
Your first 30 days advertising phone cases
Decide your lane first: a design shop tests designs, a protection shop tests proof. The steps below work for either; the creative changes, the structure doesn't.
Days 1 to 3
Choose the models you'll put money behind
List the models you actually hold stock for and make sure every variant name spells the model the way people search it, sizes included (Pro and Pro Max are different phones). Photograph the cases on real phones, not renders, and check that the camera cutout lines up in every shot.
Days 4 to 7
Launch with the model in the first line
Make six to eight vertical ads around your two strongest designs or your protective line: a snap-on clip, an outfit or desk match, a close-up of the buttons and camera ring, and a drop clip only if you've tested it. Put the compatible models on screen. Run the same clips on TikTok and in one broad Meta Sales ad set.
Days 8 to 14
Let it run and read the results by model
Don't touch budgets or audiences. Check add to carts per model as well as per ad: you may find a previous-generation phone outsells the newest one, and that changes which models get the next ads.
Days 15 to 21
Catch the long tail with a catalog and Shopping
Once purchases are coming in, add a catalog campaign that shows people the exact variant they viewed, and send the full feed to Google Merchant Center for a small Shopping campaign led by model names.
Days 22 to 30
Test the bundle and send cases to creators
Run ads for a case plus screen protector bundle against the case alone and compare order value. Ship cases to 10 creators who use the phones you support, and plan the next batch of designs or drop tests from what the first month taught you.
How to size a starting budget for phone case ads
In the example, a case sells for $28 and many buyers add a $12 screen protector, so the average order comes to about $36. Cases are cheap to make, so the margin is healthy; the order is just small.
| Order value | $36.00 |
|---|---|
| Margin after product cost, shipping and fees | 58% |
| Most a first order can cost to break even | $20.88 |
| 50 purchases a week at that cost | $1,044 a week |
| The same budget per day | about $149 |
Meta says an ad set usually leaves its learning phase after about 50 results in the week after its last significant edit, and recommends a budget large enough to get enough results. Meta Business Help Center: About the learning phase
Small orders are the whole difficulty: about $149 a day is far more than most case shops can spend while they're still finding a design that sells. What changes the math:
- Make the order bigger, not the ad cheaper. A case and screen protector bundle, or two cases at a set price for two phones in one household, lifts what each first order can afford.
- Optimize for add to cart at first. Meta's advice for an ad set that can't reach enough purchases is to choose a more frequent event, and add to cart is its own example.
- Cut fast at a low ticket. With a break-even around $21, an ad that has spent $40 without an add to cart has told you what you need to know.
- Keep one ad set for prospecting. Splitting a small budget across models or designs leaves each with too little data; let the ads, not the ad sets, carry the variety.
Model coverage: which phones to advertise
You can list cases for every phone; you can't advertise every phone. Spread a small budget across twenty models and none of them gets enough data. A way to decide where ads go:
| Phones | What buyers want | What to do in ads |
|---|---|---|
| Models launched in the last few weeks | A case on day one, while few shops have stock | Advertise only once the cases are in hand, and say "in stock, ships today" only when it's true |
| The last two or three generations | Steady replacements and upgrades | Your main ads, with each compatible model named on the creative |
| Plus, Pro and Max sizes of the same generation | A case for the exact size; this is where wrong orders happen | Separate sizes in variant names and in ad text, and never write "fits all" for a whole generation |
| Older models | A replacement for a worn-out case | Keep them in the feed and catalog; don't make dedicated ads |
| Less common phones | Any good choice at all | Let Shopping catch those searches from your feed instead of building ads for each |
If your cases have magnets for MagSafe chargers and accessories, "compatible with MagSafe" is the referential form Apple's trademark guidelines describe, with the Apple word smaller than your own product name and no Apple logo.
Offers that work for phone cases
A case is already cheap, so percent-off codes do little except shave margin. Offers that raise the order or remove the wrong-model fear do more.
Case plus screen protector
Someone with a new phone needs both, and the bundle answers the question before they shop for the protector elsewhere.
Free swap if you picked the wrong size
Ordering a Pro case for a Pro Max is the most avoidable return in the category. A free swap removes the doubt at the moment of choosing.
Watch: Limit it to unused cases and say so on the page.
Second case at a set price
Design buyers like to switch cases with the season or the outfit, and households often have more than one phone to cover.
Ships-today promise during launches
When a new phone lands, speed is the selling point and a dated shipping promise beats any discount.
Watch: The FTC's Mail Order Rule requires a reasonable basis for any shipping time you advertise.
Angles to test for phone case ads
Every case ad answers either "will it look good" or "will it protect my phone", and always "does it fit mine". There's no phone case page in our ad ideas collection yet; the static ad examples show layouts these angles fit.
Exact fit
Made for iPhone 16 Pro. Not "most phones".
Drop proof you filmed

The outfit match
The case is part of the outfit now.
Details up close
Raised camera ring. Clicky buttons. Still slim in a pocket.
The snap-on

Policy flags for phone case ads
Phone cases trade on other companies' names and on protection claims. Both are fine when done the right way, and both get ads pulled when they aren't.
Phone brand names in the ad
Apple's guidelines allow its product names in a referential phrase such as "for" or "compatible with", less prominent than your own product name, only when the case really fits, without the Apple logo and without implying Apple endorses you.

Model names in Shopping titles
Google Shopping lets titles and descriptions name a trademark for a product compatible with the trademarked product, and reviews owners' complaints about confusion. "Clear case for Galaxy S25" is the safe pattern.
"Military grade" and drop claims
A protection claim implies a test. Name the height, the surface and the number of drops you actually tested, and keep the record: the FTC expects at least the level of proof an ad claims, so "tested" or "proven" needs a real test behind it.

"Biodegradable" and "compostable"
Under the FTC's Green Guides, an unqualified degradable claim means the case breaks down within a reasonably short time after normal disposal, which a landfilled case won't. Say "compostable in a home compost" only with evidence that it is.

Characters, logos and fan art
Cases printed with characters, team logos or brand marks you don't license are the fastest way to lose an ad account, since Meta removes ads that infringe copyright or trademarks.

How often to refresh phone case ads, and what to measure
Design shops and protection shops wear out ads at different speeds, and phone launches reset everyone's calendar.
A design-led shop lives on novelty: plan two to four new designs or new clips every couple of weeks, and retire the ones that stop getting saves. A protection-led shop can run the same drop test longer, refreshing the hook, the setting or the person rather than the product.
Every major phone launch is a fixed refresh date: new models need their own ads the week you have stock, and older models' ads can step down. Between launches, Meta's "Creative limited" status, an ad costing more per result than your past ads, is the sign to rotate.
What to measure
- Wrong-model returns
- The share of returns where the buyer picked the wrong phone. If it rises, the model naming on your ads or variants isn't clear enough.
- Add to cart rate by model
- Shows which phones deserve dedicated ads and which can live in the catalog.
- Average order value
- Tells you whether the bundle is working; it's the number that decides how much a first order may cost.
- Hook rate on video
- 3-second plays per impression. Phone case clips win or lose in the first second, before anyone reads a word.
Questions about advertising phone cases
How do I advertise phone cases on Instagram?
Use short Reels of the case on a phone in hand: the snap-on, a close-up of the camera ring, or the case matched to an outfit. Put the compatible models on screen, run them as ads from your Meta account in 9:16, and keep a 4:5 version for the feed.
How do I advertise phone cases on Facebook?
Run one broad Sales campaign with a handful of ads that each name the models they fit, then add a catalog campaign that shows people the variant they viewed. Make sure purchases are tracked first, because Meta needs them to find more buyers.
How do I advertise phone cases on social media?
Post short clips that show the case in use and name the phone it fits, then put ad money behind the clips that already get saves and comments. TikTok and Instagram suit design cases; protective cases do well with drop tests you have actually run.
How do I advertise phone cases on Etsy?
Etsy works best for custom, personalized or hand-designed cases. Put the model in the listing title and variants, use Etsy Ads on your best listings from a small daily budget, and expect Offsite Ads to charge a fee on orders that come from Etsy's ads on other sites.
How do I advertise a phone accessory business?
Lead with the product that brings people in, usually cases, and use it to sell the rest: screen protectors, chargers and straps as bundles. Advertise the models you stock most deeply, and let a catalog and Google Shopping cover the long list of other phones.
Where is the best place to sell phone cases?
Your own store keeps the margin and the customer, and it's where Meta and Google ads can track sales. Amazon suits protective cases with strong reviews, and Etsy suits custom designs. Many shops use their own store as home base and add one marketplace.
What phone cases sell the most?
Lists online are mostly guesses. What holds everywhere is that cases for recently released phones are always needed, because every new phone needs one. Your own add to cart rates by model and design are the only reliable answer for your shop.
How do I promote a phone case on TikTok?
Film the case doing something in the first second: snapping on, surviving a drop, matching an outfit. Keep clips under 15 seconds, show the model name, and send cases to creators who use the phones you support.
Can I use iPhone or Samsung in my phone case ads?
Yes, to say what the case fits, as in a case for iPhone 16 Pro. Keep the phone brand smaller than your own product name, don't use its logo, and don't suggest the phone maker endorses you. Google Shopping also allows the names in titles for compatible products.
How much should I spend on phone case ads?
Start from your margin per order: the average order times what's left after product cost, shipping and fees is the most a first order can cost. With small orders that number is low, so raise the order value with bundles before raising the budget.
