Flash sale or limited-time offer?
A flash sale lasts hours and the price is the whole story. A limited-time offer runs for days or weeks, and the offer can be anything with an end: a launch price, a gift with purchase, free shipping, a second item at half price. The deadline is the hook either way, so it has to be precise.
Write the deadline so it cannot be misread
- Date, time and time zone: "Ends Sunday, Oct 26, 11:59 pm ET".
- Say what ends: "The launch price ends Sunday", not just "Hurry".
- Say what happens after, if it helps: "Then $38".
- One offer per ad, stated in the same words you use on your site.
Copy lines that work: "Free travel size with every order, until Sunday." "Launch price: $29 until March 10." "Free shipping this week only."
Fake scarcity costs more than it earns
Countdown timers that reset, "only 3 left" banners on full shelves and offers that "end tonight" every night teach shoppers to ignore you. Consumer regulators in the US, the UK and the EU have all warned businesses about fake urgency.
Honest note: our ads are still images with an optional 7-second motion version, so they cannot count down live. Pause or replace them when the offer ends.
