An Arcads alternative for the ads that don't need an actor

Arcads makes video ads with AI actors who talk about your product in dozens of languages. StoreToAds doesn't make that, and we won't pretend otherwise. We make static ads built around your real product photo. Here is when a static ad does the job better, when a UGC video does, and how to leave Arcads cleanly if you decide to.

Checked against the sources listed at the end. We make StoreToAds, so read this as a competitor's comparison.

In short

Is there an Arcads alternative for static product ads?

Yes, if you don't need AI actors. StoreToAds makes static ads around your real product photo, with the price, rating and review quotes checked against your store, plus a free 7-second motion version of any ad. It doesn't make UGC or talking-actor video. Try 3 free ads from your store link before choosing.

What Arcads is great at

Arcads' help center describes it as an AI ad platform that "generates video ads, talking actor videos, product images and B-roll from a script, a product image or a prompt, with no studio or crew." Its actors speak 74 languages with accents, and its video translation offers 176 language and accent options.

  • Talking-head video without a shoot. A script becomes a video of an actor presenting the product.
  • The same script in many markets. Useful for brands testing one message across languages.
  • Credits that keep on bigger plans. On Pro, Scale and Business, unused credits roll over with no cap and no expiry, per Arcads' help center.

Happy reviewers mostly praise how real the actors look. If a person talking to camera is the format you need, Arcads is built for it and we are not.

When a static ad beats a UGC video, and when it doesn't

JobStatic adUGC or actor video
Testing many reasons to buyStrong: ten angles cost less than one round of videoSlower: each angle needs its own script and render
A price, a sale or a bundleStrong: the number reads in a secondWorks, but the number goes by in a few frames
Ratings and review quotesStrong: the stars and the words sit next to the productCan feel staged when the speaker is an AI actor
Retargeting recent visitorsStrong: they know the product, so show the offerFine, though often more than they need
Products that sell on looks (jewelry, decor, packaging)Strong: the real photo, large and sharpThe product is often small in the frame
Showing how something worksWeak: one frame can't demonstrateStrong: a person using it says it all
A new kind of product people don't get yetWeakStrong: someone explains it in 20 seconds
Cold audiences on TikTok and ReelsWeaker: a still image competes with motionStrong: video that looks native to the feed
Our own guidance from making static ads, not a performance claim. Test both formats on your own audience.

One complaint about AI actors comes up again and again in our research: viewers can tell. A static ad doesn't ask anyone to believe a person. It shows the product, the price and the proof, and lets the shopper decide.

Our longer take on choosing between the two: static ads vs video ads.

What reviewers complain about

Arcads shows 2.5 stars from 186 reviews on Trustpilot (October 17, 2026). The low-star reviews cluster around three things.

ThemeHow oftenWhat reviewers describe
Videos they couldn't use11 of 20Glitchy lip sync, results unlike the demo ads, the product shown wrong
Credits and price8 of 20Credits gone after a few short videos; features behind higher plans
Billing and support6 of 20Charges after cancelling, slow replies
The 20 newest 1 to 3 star Arcads reviews on Trustpilot, coded by hand on October 17, 2026. The counts are floors, and a review can fall under more than one theme.
Short quotes from public posts, linked to where they appeared. Names left out.

Arcads' refund policy speaks to the first theme directly. Failed generations get their credits back automatically, but "poor output quality alone" does not qualify, for example unsatisfying lip sync or unexpected accents.

Where StoreToAds is different

We count in ads, not credits. Starter is 20 new ads a month, Growth is 10 every Monday, and one ad is one design delivered in 5 sizes. Changing the words, asking AI to change an ad, re-rendering it and making a 7-second motion version cost nothing, and ads you don't use carry over to the next month.

The product in every ad is the photo from your own product page, cut out cleanly and placed in a designed layout. Nothing about the packaging is generated, so a 2 lb bag stays a 2 lb bag.

And the proof is real. We read your rating, review count and review texts from your store, and every number and quote in an ad is checked against them before you see it.

Honest note: no actors, avatars, voiceovers, lip sync or B-roll. If your winning ads are people talking to camera, keep a UGC tool or work with real creators.

Who should not switch

  • Your best ads are talking-head UGC and you want more of them.
  • You translate scripts into many languages for several markets.
  • You're on Pro or above with a bank of rolled-over credits you still plan to use.
  • You sell an app or a service. We make ads for physical products sold from a store.

How to switch from Arcads, or run both

  1. Use or save your credits first. On Starter and Creator, unused credits reset each cycle, and Arcads' FAQ says unused credits are lost when a cancellation takes effect. Download the videos you want to keep.
  2. Cancel in Settings. From Arcads' FAQ: Settings, Billing, Manage subscription, Cancel subscription. It takes effect at the end of the billing cycle. On a custom plan, contact support. Cancelling during the 72-hour trial ends access right away.
  3. See whether a refund applies. Arcads' refund policy (dated September 16, 2026) refunds a billing period in full if no generation credits were used in it and you ask within 30 days of the charge.
  4. Test statics next to your videos. Paste your store link for 3 free StoreToAds ads, then run the strongest one against your top Arcads video on the same audience.

How it works

Adding statics next to your videos

  1. 01

    Same product, new format

Paste the product link you used in your scripts. We read its price, rating and reviews.

  2. 02

    Angles your videos haven't tried

Each ad leads with a different reason to buy: a quote, a number, an offer, a comparison.

  3. 03

    Sizes for every placement

4:5 for feeds and 9:16 for Stories and Reels, plus 1:1, 2:3 and 1.91:1.

  4. 04

A little motion if you want it

Any ad becomes a 7-second MP4, free, for placements that favor movement.

Questions

Is there a cheaper alternative to Arcads?

It depends on the format. For AI actor videos, compare tools on the price of a finished, usable video rather than per credit. If static product ads would do the job, StoreToAds starts at $49 a month for 20 ads, with 3 free ads first and no credits spent on retries.

How much does Arcads cost?

Arcads didn't publish dollar prices on its public site when we checked on October 17, 2026. Its help center says current prices are on the pricing page inside the app, yearly billing is 20% off, and a talking-actor video of up to 2 minutes costs 800 credits.

How do I cancel Arcads?

Arcads' FAQ says: Settings, Billing, Manage subscription, Cancel subscription. It ends at the end of the billing cycle, and unused credits are lost. Custom plans cancel through support. Cancelling during the 72-hour trial ends access straight away.

Can I get a refund from Arcads?

Its refund policy, dated September 16, 2026, refunds a billing period in full if you used zero generation credits in it and ask within 30 days. There is also a one-time refund within 24 hours if no credits were used. Periods with any credit use aren't refunded.

Does StoreToAds make UGC or AI actor videos?

No. We make static ads around your real product photo, and any ad can become a 7-second motion MP4. No actors, avatars or voiceovers.

Static ads or UGC: which should I test first?

If you have reviews, a clear price or an offer, statics are a quick and inexpensive way to find which reason to buy works. If your product needs showing or explaining, start with video. Many brands run both.
