chocolate ad prompt

Chocolate ad prompts, tested on one bar

A chocolate bar is a flat paper wrapper with gold lettering and a weight in small print. Simple, you'd think, for an image model. We ran five common chocolate ad prompts for Brindlewood, a fictional bean-to-bar maker, and compared every result with its packshot. The chocolate looked delicious in all five. The wrapper was right in one.

Updated · Every prompt ran once on October 17, 2026, for a fictional brand. Nothing was retried or cherry-picked.

In short

What is a good AI prompt for a chocolate bar ad?

Attach a photo of your wrapped bar and say the wrapper, foil, lettering and weight must stay exactly as photographed. Then describe the setting, the broken pieces you want and the exact text. In our tests, prompts without the photo redrew the wrapper every time, and one printed 100 g on an 80 g bar.

Brindlewood · 72% Dark Chocolate with Sea Salt, 80 g · $9 · 4.9 from 1,318 reviews · fictional

Brindlewood's product page: 72% Dark Chocolate with Sea Salt, 80 g, $9. Single-origin cacao from the Dominican Republic, stone-ground and aged 30 days; three ingredients (cacao, organic cane sugar, flaky sea salt); tasting notes of cherry, toasted nuts and caramel; vegan and soy-free; rated 4.9 from 1,318 reviews. The packshot is a teal paper wrapper with gold type, peeled back over white foil. Prompts A to C ran without it, D and E with it attached.

    What went right

    • 72%, sea salt, Dominican Republic, bean to bar, three ingredients, vegan, 80 g and $9: all spelled and numbered correctly.
    • The broken bar with salt flakes is appetising and close to how the real chocolate looks.

    What went wrong

    • The wrapper is a new design: darker green, a gold tree logo, a gold frame and extra lines of type. Brindlewood's is plain teal with the name set at an angle.
    • A tagline at the bottom ("Remarkable chocolate") was the model's own; harmless, but not the brand's voice.

Could you run it? A polished ad with correct facts and somebody else's wrapper. The bar a customer receives won't match it.

  2. AI output for the second prompt: a teal box-style wrapper printed with a chocolate splash and cacao pods, Brindlewood twice and Net Wt 3.5oz (100g), on a table with cacao beans and salt, under the headline Escape to rich indulgence., with three benefits, 4.9 stars and $9.00.

    What went right

    • The rating line and the price are exactly as given.
    • The cacao pods, beans and salt bowl make a rich, warm scene.

    What went wrong

    • The wrapper says "Net Wt 3.5oz (100g)". The bar is 80 g. A weight on a pack is a fact shoppers and regulators both read.
    • The splash we asked for was printed onto the wrapper itself as an illustration, and the brand name appears twice on the front.
    • The benefits are soft and safe ("Purely artisanal", "velvety smooth texture") but none says what makes this bar different: three ingredients and 30 days of ageing.

Could you run it? Looks premium, gets the weight wrong and leaves out the facts the brand actually sells on.

  3. AI output for the third prompt: a teal wrapper with a gold crown drawn above the word Brindlewood and 72% Dark with Sea Salt 80 g in gold, with dark squares sliding out, salt and cacao nibs on dark wood, and no ad text.
Made with FLUX.2 Pro (Black Forest Labs, through Higgsfield), October 17, 2026, for a fictional brand.

    What went right

    • The quoted wrapper text came back exactly: BRINDLEWOOD, 72% DARK with Sea Salt, 80 g.
    • Side light and salt crystals give the macro look these prompts aim for.

    What went wrong

    • A gold crown sits on top of the brand name. Brindlewood has no crown, and a crest suggests a heritage the brand doesn't claim.
    • The squares have diagonal ridges the real bar doesn't, and the bar slides out of a sleeve rather than peeled foil.
    • No price or headline: a photograph, not an ad.

Could you run it? Good texture, wrong logo. Fine as a background, not as the product.

  4. AI output for the fourth prompt: Brindlewood's teal wrapper with gold type, peeled back over white foil, on a dark linen napkin with broken pieces and an espresso, under the headline Cacao, cane sugar, sea salt. That's it., with 72% · Dominican Republic and $9.

    What went right

    • The wrapper matches the packshot: teal paper, angled gold BRINDLEWOOD, 72% DARK with Sea Salt, 80 g, white foil peeled back.
    • Headline, origin line and price are exactly what we wrote.
    • Espresso and a dark napkin suit a 72% bar without adding claims.

    What went wrong

    Nothing we could find.

Could you run it? Runnable as it stands; still compare the small 80 g line with your own wrapper, as with any redraw. It was accurate because the prompt was: a typo in our headline would have been printed just as faithfully.

  5. AI output for the fifth prompt: a hand snapping a square off the Brindlewood bar with salt falling, while a second, upright Brindlewood box behind it carries the words 72% Dark with Sea Salt, $9 and a leaf logo, its brand name cut off at the edge.

    What went right

    • The bar in the hand keeps its teal wrapper, angled gold name and foil.
    • The snap and the falling salt are convincing.

    What went wrong

    • Instead of putting our line at the top of the image, it invented a second, upright box behind the bar and printed the line and the price on it, with a leaf logo the brand doesn't have.
    • That box's brand name is cropped to BRINDLEWO at the edge of the frame.

Could you run it? The snap shot is lovely; the extra box isn't a product you sell. Crop it out or regenerate.

What the five runs show for chocolate

Chocolate itself is easy for these models: broken squares, salt crystals and espresso came out well in all five. The wrapper is where they slip, because to a model a wrapper is a design to improve. Without the photo it gained a tree, a crown, a frame and a chocolate splash, and in one run a 100 g weight.

With the packshot attached, ChatGPT's model kept the wrapper exactly. Gemini's kept the bar but solved our text request by inventing a second package with the price printed on it. Both outcomes are worth knowing before you ask for text on an image.

None of the runs could tell you that the bar is aged 30 days or that three customers mention cherries. Those facts sell craft chocolate, and they live on your product page and in your reviews, not in a prompt template.

Seven ways to turn those facts into ads are on our chocolate ad ideas page; channels, gifting dates and a first budget are in how to advertise chocolate.

Use the attached photo of my wrapped bar exactly as it is: the same wrapper colour, lettering, logo, foil and net weight. Do not redesign or add anything to the wrapper. Place it on [SURFACE] with [ONE OR TWO BROKEN PIECES]. Add only this text: headline "[YOUR INGREDIENTS, IN LABEL ORDER]", line "[CACAO % AND ORIGIN]", price "[PRICE]". Portrait 4:5, no badges.
  2. 02

    For single-origin and flavoured bars.

Keep the attached bar photo unchanged on the lower half. Above it, set the tasting notes from my page as three words on three lines: "[NOTE 1]. [NOTE 2]. [NOTE 3]." Add [ONE PROP PER NOTE, e.g. two cherries] beside the bar. No other text and no chocolate splash.

    The wrapper check

After every image, before you download it.

List every word, number and symbol on the wrapper in your image. Compare that list with the wrapper in the photo I attached: brand name, cacao percentage, flavour line, net weight, logo. Report any difference, any extra package or object you added, then fix only those.

Tips for each tool, for chocolate

ChatGPT

  • Upload the wrapper and say the lettering and weight stay as photographed. Our GPT Image 2.5 run reproduced the 80 g line correctly.
  • Write the headline yourself. Without the photo, GPT-5.4 Image 2 kept our facts but added a tagline of its own.
  • Ask for broken pieces next to the wrapper rather than a bar bursting out of it; it keeps the wrapper flat and readable.

Gemini

  • If you need text on the image, say "as an overlay at the top of the image, not printed on any package". Our Nano Banana Pro run printed it on an invented second box.
  • Check the net weight. Nano Banana 2 put 100 g on an 80 g bar when it designed the wrapper itself.
  • Splashes and drips belong in the scene, not on the pack; say so, or the splash may end up printed on the wrapper.

Midjourney-style tools

  • Text in quotes can come back exactly, as ours did, but logos can't: FLUX drew a crown over the name.
  • Parameters such as --ar and --style raw are Midjourney's, read at the end of the prompt per its docs; other tools ignore them.
  • Use keyword prompts for texture shots of chocolate and salt, then pair them with your real wrapper photo.

Questions about chocolate ad prompts

What are some catchy slogans about chocolate?

The ones that stick usually carry a fact: "Three ingredients. 30 days of patience.", the tasting notes in order, or a customer's line about cherries and caramel. Our chocolate ad ideas page has more, each tied to a fact on the product page.

Can ChatGPT make a chocolate bar ad?

Yes. From a description, it made a polished ad with the right facts on a wrapper of its own design. With the packshot attached, GPT Image 2.5 kept Brindlewood's wrapper and printed our text exactly. You still check every fact and make each size separately.

Why did the AI put the wrong weight on my wrapper?

When a model designs the wrapper, it fills in the details a wrapper usually has, and 100 g is a common bar size. It doesn't know yours is 80 g. Give the weight in quotes, or better, attach the real wrapper photo.

Can AI make a melting chocolate splash ad?

It can make the splash convincingly. In our run it also printed the splash onto the wrapper as part of the design. Ask for the splash as a separate element behind the bar, and keep the bar itself from your photo.

Should I let the AI write my chocolate ad copy?

We'd write it yourself. When we asked for benefits, the model wrote "purely artisanal" and "velvety smooth texture" and skipped the three ingredients and the 30 days of ageing, which are what the page actually sells on.

Can I use AI to design a chocolate wrapper?

You can explore ideas, but don't advertise a wrapper you don't ship. Every no-photo run here redesigned Brindlewood's wrapper, and a customer expecting the gold crown from an ad will notice the real bar has none.

How do I show ingredients in a chocolate ad?

List them in label order and nothing else: "Cacao, cane sugar, sea salt." A short list is the proof. If you claim organic or single-origin, those words should match your wrapper and product page exactly.

Will Meta label a chocolate ad made with AI?

It might. Meta says it detects ads made or edited with third-party generative AI tools using industry signals such as C2PA metadata, and can show an AI info label on them.

How do I advertise chocolate bars?

Lead with taste and craft, use gifting moments, and make bundles or samplers the offer. Our guide to advertising chocolate covers channels, a starting budget and seasonal timing.
