Candle offers that suit gift buyers
| Offer | Why it suits candles | What the ad shows |
|---|---|---|
| Buy 2, get the 3rd free (Pip & Oak's choice) | Gift shoppers buy several at once; a free third candle feels generous and lifts the order | The total ("3 for $64") and "usually $96", with "any scents" |
| Gift set at one price | Three scents in one box solves the gift for a shopper who can't choose | The set, its price and what's in it |
| Free gift wrap or a gift note | Costs little, and it removes the reason to buy elsewhere | A second line under the offer |
| Spend threshold for a free votive | Moves a one-candle order to two | The threshold and the extra, in plain numbers |
Write the bundle as a total. "3 candles for $64" is checked in a second; "buy 2, get 1 free" makes the shopper do the math. Pip & Oak's "usually $96" is three candles at the everyday $32.
What a candle sale ad still has to show
- The real jar, large. Gift shoppers want to see exactly what they'll wrap.
- The scent in words. "Fig. Cedar. A little vanilla." A photo can show a flame, not a smell.
- One fact about value. Burn time, size or the reusable jar. Pip & Oak's question ad turns the jar into the reason to buy.
- When it arrives. From December, an order-by date matters more to a gift buyer than the discount.
The candle Black Friday calendar
| Date (2026) | What happens | What it means for your ads |
|---|---|---|
| By Fri, Nov 13 | Black Friday ads made, checked and uploaded to Meta with a scheduled start date | Meta reviews most ads within 24 hours, some take longer, and any change to an ad's creative starts a new review. Two weeks leaves room for a rejection and a fix. |
| Mon, Nov 16 to Sun, Nov 22 | The sale ads sit in the ad sets they will run in | An ad set leaves Meta's learning phase after about 50 results in the week after its last significant edit, and adding a new ad counts as one. Set the sale up now and leave it alone while it runs. |
| Fri, Nov 27 | Black Friday: the sale starts | Write the dates in the ad ("Fri Nov 27 to Mon Nov 30"). It does the job of a countdown and it stays true. |
| Sat, Nov 28 | Small Business Saturday (US) | If you're an independent shop, it's a fair reason to say so in a second ad. |
| Mon, Nov 30 | Cyber Monday: the last day of most sales | "Ends Monday, Nov 30" is true urgency. Swap the sale ads for gift and shipping ads the next morning. |
| Fri, Dec 4 to Sat, Dec 12 | Hanukkah | Gift ads for Hanukkah need an earlier order-by date than Christmas ones. |
| Your order-by date | USPS Ground Advantage date (Dec 17) minus your packing time | Glass jars take longer to pack safely. If you need 3 days, your ground order-by date is Monday, Dec 14: put it in every gift ad from Dec 1. |
| Thu, Dec 17 | USPS recommended send-by date for Ground Advantage and First-Class Mail (lower 48 states) | Your last "arrives by Christmas" ad for ground shipping ends this date minus your packing time. |
| Fri, Dec 18 and Sat, Dec 19 | USPS recommended send-by dates for Priority Mail (Dec 18) and Priority Mail Express (Dec 19) | After these, switch to gift cards, e-gift subscriptions or local pickup in your ads. |
Candle Black Friday copy lines
- Three candles, $64. One for you, two to give.
- Buy 2, get the 3rd free. Any scents.
- Fig. Cedar. A little vanilla. Now 3 for $64.
- Gift wrap is on us this weekend.
- Order by Dec 14 for Christmas delivery. (Your own date.)
Skip "almost gone", "last chance" and countdown timers unless your stock data backs them. The end date does the same job and stays true.
