Instagram square ads that look made for the feed

A square fits almost anywhere on Instagram: the feed, carousels and next to regular posts without an awkward crop. StoreToAds builds 1080 x 1080 ads around your real product photo, with prices and reviews read from your store.

A square is a fifth shorter than a 4:5 ad of the same width, so it gives up some feed space. What you get back is one shape that sits cleanly between organic posts and slots into a carousel without cropping.

What makes a square stop the scroll

  • Center the product. A square has no spare height for a separate headline band, so the product and the headline share the middle of the frame.
  • Keep one message. On a phone a square is only a few inches wide: a headline of up to eight words and a price is about all that stays readable.
  • Keep text off the bottom and side edges, where Meta asks you to leave room on Instagram Feed ads.
  • Make it look like a post, not a banner: one strong photo, a calm background and type that matches your brand. Formats like a review card or a Notes-app list blend into the feed well.

How our square is made

StoreToAds designs and checks every ad at 4:5 first, then places that same design on the 1080 x 1080 canvas: the full ad at full height in the center, with 108 px bands on each side that continue the ad's own background. Nothing is re-flowed, so the headline never ends up on top of the product.

How it works

How StoreToAds makes it

  1. 01

    Paste your store

Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, PrestaShop or any store with product pages. If your store blocks automatic reading, use screenshots or type the details in.

  2. 02

We design the 4:5, then the square

Each ad is designed once, checked for layout and facts, then placed into 1080 x 1080 and the other three sizes.

  3. 03

    Download or send

Download the square as a PNG or in a ZIP with every size. On weekly plans, Send to Meta posts the 4:5 version as a paused draft; use the square for carousels or placements you set yourself.

Examples

Fictional sample brands. Drag across an ad to see the store photo it was made from; our engine designed each one from that photo and the store's data.

Questions

Should I run 1:1 or 4:5 on Instagram?

For a single-image feed ad, 4:5 usually wins because it is taller. Use the square for carousels, for placements that need one shape, or when you want the ad to sit like a regular post. Every StoreToAds ad comes in both.

Is 1080 x 1080 big enough for Instagram?

Yes. Meta's recommended minimum for Instagram Feed images is 1080 x 1080 pixels, which is exactly the size of our square.

Can I build a carousel from the squares?

Yes. Carousel cards are square, so you can download a few square ads and add them as cards in Ads Manager. Send to Meta creates single-image ads, not carousels.

Will the square look different from the 4:5?

Only at the edges. The square shows the same design at 80% of its 4:5 size, centered, with narrow bands at the sides. Headline, product, price and button stay where they were.
