StoreToAds vs Shopify Campaign Autopilot

Campaign Autopilot runs your ads. StoreToAds designs them.

Shopify's free Campaign Autopilot plans and runs campaigns from your admin, using your catalog photos. Shopify says it is not generating AI creative for you. StoreToAds is the designer next to it: finished ads built around your real product photo, with every price, rating and quote checked against your store, fresh every week.

What Shopify Campaign Autopilot is

Campaign Autopilot was announced on June 17, 2026, in early access. In Shopify's words, it is "a way to automatically run paid and organic campaigns across channels, directly from the Shopify admin." You set a monthly budget target and the rules, choose what needs your approval, and Autopilot builds campaigns and moves budget toward what is working.

  • Channels: Meta ads, Microsoft Advertising, Shop Campaigns and email automations, with ChatGPT Ads and Snapchat announced.
  • Setup: it can create a Meta ad account for you, or connect the one you have.
  • Your other campaigns: it creates its own campaigns and leaves your existing ones alone.
  • Price: free on paid Shopify plans; you pay for the ad spend.

On creative, Shopify is direct: Autopilot "uses your existing product images and catalog to create campaigns. It's not generating AI creative on your behalf." Separately, Shopify's AI tools (Shopify Magic and Sidekick) write product copy and can edit product images in the file editor, for example changing a background from a text prompt.

What Autopilot is great at

  • Getting started from zero. From "I've never run an ad" to a live campaign inside your Shopify admin.
  • Budget across channels. It spreads one monthly budget over Meta, Shop Campaigns and more, and shifts it as results come in.
  • Email you were not sending. Abandoned cart and abandoned browse automations, suggested and built for you.
  • Shopify's data. Shopify says it learns from what works across millions of stores.
  • Price. Free on paid plans.

Where StoreToAds fits

Autopilot is a media buyer without a designer: Shopify says it builds campaigns from your catalog and existing product images and doesn't generate creative. If your product photos already sell, that may be enough. If you want ads that lead with a review, a benefit or an offer, someone still has to design them.

StoreToAds makes the designed ads:

  • Your real product photo, never redrawn. Image editors that generate new scenes can change a label; we cut out your photo and design around it.
  • Every fact checked. Prices, sale prices, star ratings and review quotes come from your store and are matched before an ad reaches you.
  • A different reason to buy in each ad. Reviews, benefits, offers, comparisons and more, 10, 20 or 30 new ads every Monday on weekly plans.

How to use both

Because Autopilot runs its own campaigns and leaves the others alone, the simple setup is side by side:

  • Autopilot runs its catalog campaigns, Shop Campaigns and email.
  • StoreToAds sends designed ads to your Meta ad account as paused ads, in their own campaigns. You publish the ones you want.
  • Each ad we send links to the product it shows, with UTM tags that name the ad, so you can tell which ad brought the visit.

Honest note: both can spend from the same Meta ad account. Autopilot works to a monthly budget target; our ads use the daily budget you choose when you send them, and you can change it in Ads Manager. Keep an eye on the total.

Today StoreToAds reads your store from its link: paste it and we read your products, prices and reviews from your store's pages. A StoreToAds Shopify app is coming soon.

Questions

Can Campaign Autopilot use StoreToAds ads?

Shopify says Autopilot builds its campaigns from your product images and catalog, and it does not touch campaigns it did not create. So today the two run side by side: Autopilot runs its campaigns, and StoreToAds ads run in your own Meta campaigns.

Is StoreToAds a Shopify app?

A Shopify app is coming soon. Today you paste your store link and we read your products, prices and reviews from your store's pages. There is nothing to install and nothing in your store changes.

I already use Autopilot. Do I need StoreToAds?

Only if you want designed ads, not just catalog photos: a headline, a real review, the price and a clear reason to buy, built around your real product photo. Try 3 free ads of your own products and compare them with what your campaigns show today.

What does it cost next to Autopilot?

Autopilot is free on paid Shopify plans. StoreToAds is a separate subscription: Starter $49/month, or weekly plans from $99/month with a 7-day free trial, and a 30-day money-back guarantee on every plan.

Is StoreToAds made by Shopify?

No. StoreToAds is an independent product, not affiliated with or endorsed by Shopify.
