# The right price on every catalog ad, for free

Source: https://storetoads.com/meta-catalog-price-badges/

Catalog and Advantage+ catalog ads show the plain product photo from your feed. StoreToAds draws a clean price badge onto each product's own photo, in your brand colors, and serves the images to Meta as a supplementary feed, so the badge follows every price change.

## How do I add a price badge to my Meta catalog ads?

Turn on catalog badges in StoreToAds and paste the feed link it gives you into Meta Commerce Manager once, as a supplementary feed. Each product's own photo then carries a price badge (price, was price, % off) in your brand colors, and the badge is redrawn when the price changes. It's free for up to 100 products.

- **Your own photos.** Each product's catalog photo, with a badge in one corner. The product is never redrawn.
- **Prices that stay true.** A changed price is redrawn; until it is, that product shows its plain photo, never an old price.
- **One link, once.** Paste one feed link into Meta Commerce Manager. Nothing to re-upload after that.

## What a catalog price badge shows

A badge can show any of these, and you choose which:

- **The price**, written in your store's currency.
- **The was price**, only when your store shows a real compare-at price.
- **The % off**, rounded down, only on a real discount.
- **A free shipping line**, only if you turn it on (optionally above a price you set). We never guess it.

You also pick the corner, the badge color, the % off color, the font and a rounded or square shape. The app shows a live preview on example products before anything reaches your feed.

## How the badges get into your Meta catalog

Meta lets a catalog take a supplementary feed: a second data source that updates fields of items you already have. Ours updates one field, the image link, for each product. Your primary feed (Shopify's channel, a feed app or your own file) keeps the prices, titles and stock.

1. Turn on catalog badges in StoreToAds and copy your private feed link.
2. In Meta Commerce Manager, open the catalog your ads use, then Data sources, then add Supplementary data as a scheduled feed.
3. Paste the link, choose hourly updates and pick your primary feed to supplement.
4. Check Catalog, then Items: after Meta's first fetch, product images show the badge.

> Honest note: the content IDs in the feed must match the IDs in your Meta catalog exactly. The app lets you pick the format your catalog uses (Shopify's Facebook & Instagram channel, other Shopify feed apps, WooCommerce, SKU or product ID) and check one ID before you start.

## How badges stay in step with your prices

Your store is read once a day; with the Shopify app (coming soon) price changes arrive within minutes. A badge is drawn again whenever the price, the was price, the photo or your badge style changes, and every new badge gets a new image link, so Meta never shows a cached old one.

If a product's price changed and its new badge isn't ready yet, that product leaves the feed and Meta shows its plain photo. If we can't read your store for 3 days, the feed empties itself, so a stale price never runs.

## What it costs

Free on every account for up to 100 products. Paid plans cover up to 2,000 products. There is no AI involved in drawing a badge, so there are no credits to spend.

## How StoreToAds makes it

1. **Read your products.** We read your products, photos and prices from your store, once a day.
2. **Draw the badges.** Each photo gets a badge in your style. Only real discounts show a was price.
3. **Paste one link.** Add the feed link in Commerce Manager as a supplementary feed, once.
4. **Prices change, badges follow.** New prices are redrawn; stale ones leave the feed until they are.

## Questions about catalog ad price badgess

**Does this change my product photos?**

No. The badge is drawn on top of each product's own catalog photo, in a corner you choose. The product itself is never redrawn or regenerated.

**Which stores does it work with?**

Shopify and WooCommerce stores, read from your store link once a day. With the Shopify app, which is coming soon, price changes arrive within minutes.

**Does it change my prices or stock in Meta?**

No. The supplementary feed only replaces each item's image. Prices, titles and availability still come from your primary feed.

**Can I use the badges on Google Shopping?**

No. Google Merchant Center doesn't allow promotional overlays on product images, so the feed is meant for Meta catalogs only.

**Should I turn off Meta's own price overlays?**

If your Advantage+ catalog ads already show Meta's price overlay, turn it off so the price doesn't appear twice.

**Is it really free?**

Yes, for up to 100 products on any account. Paid plans raise the limit to 2,000 products. Designed ads (the weekly ads) are a paid plan.
