# Product ad examples: 15 ways to show the thing you sell

Source: https://storetoads.com/examples/product-ads/

A product ad has one job: make someone want the thing in the picture. These fifteen ads, for fictional brands in fifteen product categories, are grouped by how they show the product, so you can pick the approach that suits yours.

*Updated November 4, 2026. Fictional sample brands, real engine output.*

## What is a product ad?

A product ad sells one specific product, with that product as the hero of the image: what it is, why it's worth buying and what it costs. The best ones show the real product large, back the main claim with one fact or review, and end with a single next step.

## What to show first, by product type

Start from what your product is. The approach that works for earrings is wrong for a mattress, and the ads below follow that.

| Product type | Show first | The fact that sells it | On this page |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Jewelry | Worn, close up, so the size reads | The metal, and whether it can get wet | Gilt Harbor hoops |
| Shoes and clothing | On a person, in a real place | The material, the fit, how it wears | Courtlace sneakers |
| Watches and gear | The product large, with labeled parts | The specs buyers compare | Fieldmark watch |
| Beauty and hair | In someone's hands, with the result | Key ingredients and who it suits | Wildbraid curl cream |
| Food and supplements | The pack, with the number that matters | Protein, sugar, ingredients | Northvale whey |
| Bedding and mattresses | What's inside, or the bed made up | Layers, materials, the trial | Lowmoon mattress |
| Kitchen and household | The product doing the job | What it replaces, how long it lasts | Ironfern, Combwise |

## 15 product ads, by how they show the product

> **About these ads.** Our engine made these on October 17, 2026, for fictional brands, from a product photo and each brand's made-up store data. Every price, rating and review on them is that fictional store's own and passed our fact check.

### The product is the headline

When the product's look or one number is the reason to buy, make it big and let the words support it.

### Northvale Nutrition: 25g protein. 1 g sugar.

![Dark navy Northvale Nutrition ad: '25g protein. 1 g sugar.' with a huge gold 25g above a tub of Grass-Fed Whey Isolate, Vanilla Bean, a wooden scoop of powder, a 1 g sugar card, 'per 30 g scoop', 4.7 from 2,986 reviews and a 'Shop now' button.](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/northvale-07.webp)

*Fictional sample brand, made by our engine. Protein powder · Big number · 4:5.*

'25g' is the biggest thing on the ad, set over the tub, with '1 g sugar' on a card beside it. For a protein powder those two numbers are the comparison buyers make, so the ad makes it for them.

### Clovewell: Keep the case. Swap the refill.

![Orange Clovewell ad: 'Keep the case. Swap the refill.' with a dark green '$10 refills' badge, 4.6 from 3,540 reviews, a quote from Andrew K., a green Cedar & Sage deodorant stick on a wood slice with sage leaves, and a $14 shop line.](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/clovewell-01.webp)

*Fictional sample brand, made by our engine. Deodorant · Bold poster · 4:5.*

A refillable deodorant sells on the refill. The headline says so in five words, and the '$10 refills' badge gives the price that matters after the first purchase.

### Tundrell: 4.8 out of 5 from 5,106 reviews.

![Orange Tundrell ad: '4.8 5,106 REVIEWS out of 5' with a huge navy 4.8, a light blue 32 oz bottle with a black lid, the line 'One 32 oz bottle that keeps drinks cold all day.', a quote card from Lena V. with five stars, and a 'Shop now, $38' button.](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/tundrell-03.webp)

*Fictional sample brand, made by our engine. Drinkware · Big number · 4:5.*

A huge '4.8' next to a plain bottle on orange: proof first, product second. The one line under it, 'keeps drinks cold all day', is the reason the rating exists.

### Worn, held or used

Some products only make sense on a person. A photo of it in use answers 'what will it look like on me' before anyone asks.

### Gilt Harbor: Gold that keeps up.

![Soft cream Gilt Harbor ad: 'Gold that keeps up.' beside a close-up of a blonde woman's ear wearing two gold huggie hoops, a gold 'Shower & swim safe' seal, a 4.9 star review card with a quote, and a 'Shop the huggies · $58' button.](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/giltharbor-01.webp)

*Fictional sample brand, made by our engine. Jewelry · Lifestyle type · 4:5.*

Hoops on an ear, close enough to see their size. The 'shower & swim safe' seal answers the question people have about everyday gold jewelry, right next to the product.

### Courtlace: Goes with everything.

![Photo-based Courtlace ad: 'Goes with everything.' over a street scene of a person in cuffed dark jeans and white leather low-top sneakers on cobblestones, with a 4.7 star rating from 2,058 reviews, a customer quote, a 'Shop the Court Sneaker, $135' button and a free shipping note.](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/courtlace-01.webp)

*Fictional sample brand, made by our engine. Shoes · Lifestyle type · 4:5.*

Sneakers on a cobbled street with cuffed jeans: the outfit in the photo proves 'goes with everything'. The materials, full-grain Italian leather made by hand in Portugal, sit small for the people who look closer.

### Tidepull: Squat. It stays put.

![Bright white living room Tidepull ad: 'Squat. It stays put.' A woman in a mid-squat wears a coral Tidepull Medium band above her knees. A card shows 4.8 rating from 4,512 reviews, $32 (was $40) and a 'Shop the set' button.](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/tidepull-02.webp)

*Fictional sample brand, made by our engine. Fitness products · Lifestyle type · 4:5.*

A band above the knees, mid-squat, under the line 'it stays put'. The photo shows the exact moment the promise is about, which a packshot of three bands can't.

### Wildbraid: Curls that move. Not crunch.

![Soft white tiled bathroom look, Wildbraid ad: 'Curls that move. Not crunch.' A smiling woman with voluminous curly hair holds a plum Defining Curl Cream tube to her cheek. A card shows 4.7 stars, 2,641 reviews, and a 'Shop Defining Curl Cream, $26' button.](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/wildbraid-01.webp)

*Fictional sample brand, made by our engine. Haircare · Lifestyle type · 4:5.*

A curl cream held up beside the curls it's for. The headline names the result buyers want and the one they fear, 'not crunch', and the card says which hair types it suits.

### Up close, where the price is justified

Callouts and zoom circles point at the parts people pay for. They turn 'well made' into something you can check in the photo.

### Fieldmark Watch Co.: Readable at a glance.

![Tan graph-paper Fieldmark Watch Co. ad: 'Readable at a glance.' above a sand-dial watch on a tan leather strap, with four labeled callouts: 38 mm case, Sapphire crystal, Lume hands, 20 mm strap. $185 and a 'Shop the Field 38' button sit at the bottom.](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/fieldmark-04.webp)

*Fictional sample brand, made by our engine. Watches · Annotated hero · 4:5.*

Four labels point at the case, the crystal, the hands and the strap: 38 mm, sapphire, lume, 20 mm quick-release. Watch buyers compare exactly these, and the $185 waits at the bottom.

### Lowmoon Sleep: Coils below. Cloud on top.

![Light gray Lowmoon Sleep ad: 'Coils below. Cloud on top.' with a navy and white hybrid mattress photo, four numbered callouts (strong edges, breathable knit cover, individually wrapped coils, 3 foam layers), 4.7 from 3,922 reviews and a 'See the Hybrid' button.](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/lowmoon-05.webp)

*Fictional sample brand, made by our engine. Mattresses · Annotated hero · 4:5.*

A mattress is hard to judge from the outside, so the ad shows the inside: coils below, foam above, numbered. 'Medium-firm' and the 12-inch height answer the first two questions anyone has.

### Sunmere Swim: Look closer.

![Warm beige Sunmere Swim ad: 'Look closer.' beside a terracotta ribbed one-piece with a brand tag, a large circle zooming in on the ribbed fabric, three numbered features, $98, 4.7 from 1,938 reviews and a 'Shop the Ribbed Scoop' button.](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/sunmere-02.webp)

*Fictional sample brand, made by our engine. Swimwear · Look closer · 4:5.*

A zoom circle on the ribbed fabric and three numbered features: 78% recycled nylon, chlorine-resistant color, fully lined. A swimsuit sells on fit and fabric, and this ad shows the fabric.

### Proof right next to the product

A review is easier to believe beside the thing it describes. These put the quote and the product in one glance.

### Ironfern: “Eggs slide right off with barely any oil.”

![Orange Ironfern ad: '“Eggs slide right off with barely any oil.”' in a cream review card with five stars, credited to Priya N., verified. A sage skillet holds two fried eggs, with a 4.7 from 1,864 reviews badge, two short reviews and a button.](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/ironfern-02.webp)

*Fictional sample brand, made by our engine. Kitchen · Review card · 4:5.*

Two fried eggs in the skillet, under the review 'Eggs slide right off with barely any oil.' The photo shows what the quote says, so the claim and the proof are one picture.

### Glossbury: “Streak-free mirrors, and it smells like a spa instead of chemicals.”

![Dark teal Glossbury ad: '“Streak-free mirrors, and it smells like a spa instead of chemicals.”' with five stars, reviewer Anna K., two tags, 4.7 from 3,318 reviews, a spray bottle with three white tablets and a 'Shop Glossbury' button.](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/glossbury-03.webp)

*Fictional sample brand, made by our engine. Cleaning products · Review card · 4:5.*

A review that names two benefits, streak-free mirrors and a spa smell, beside the spray bottle and the tablets that make the cleaner. Two small tags list what it leaves out.

### Side by side with the usual option

If buyers already use something else, compare. These compare against a category or a common belief, never a named brand.

### Combwise: One use vs. about a year.

![Cream Combwise ad: 'One use vs. about a year.' with a photo of a honeycomb-print beeswax wrap set in a kraft sleeve, a quote from Olivia H., 4.8 stars from 2,954 reviews, a plastic wrap vs Combwise comparison table and a 'Switch for $22' button.](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/combwise-06.webp)

*Fictional sample brand, made by our engine. Eco-friendly products · Us vs them table · 4:5.*

'One use vs. about a year' sums up a table of plastic wrap against beeswax wraps. Comparing with a category, not a rival brand, keeps it fair and easy to check.

### Saltpeak: MYTH: Chickpeas can't crunch like chips.

![Red Saltpeak ad: 'MYTH: Chickpeas can't crunch like chips.' struck through with black bars, then 'FACT: Oven-roasted with olive oil and sea salt, they crunch like a chip.' A Sea Salt chickpea bag, a review quote and a '$24' button are shown.](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/saltpeak-01.webp)

*Fictional sample brand, made by our engine. Snacks · Myth vs fact · 4:5.*

The myth is struck through in thick black bars and the fact follows: oven-roasted with olive oil and sea salt, they crunch like a chip. The bag beside it shows what the fact is about.

### Butterbloom: MYTH: Rich body butter has to feel greasy.

![Dark plum Butterbloom ad: 'MYTH: Rich body butter has to feel greasy.' struck through, with a peach FACT card reading 'Whipped, light and non-greasy. It melts in fast.' A jar of Vanilla Oat body butter, a 5-star quote, 4.8 stars and a $28 button.](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/butterbloom-04.webp)

*Fictional sample brand, made by our engine. Body care · Myth vs fact · 4:5.*

'Rich body butter has to feel greasy' is the doubt that stops people buying one. The ad states it, crosses it out and answers it, 'whipped, light and non-greasy', beside the jar.

## Product ads, product listing ads and catalog ads

The terms get mixed up, so here is how they differ:

- **A product ad**, the kind on this page, is a designed image about one product: the photo, a headline, a reason to buy and usually a price. You make it and choose where it runs.
- **Product listing ads** is the older name for Google Shopping ads: a product photo, title and price taken from your product feed and shown next to search results.
- **Catalog ads** on Meta and Pinterest also come from a product feed and show your catalog photos to people likely to want them. Designed product ads and catalog ads work side by side. To put a price badge on your catalog photos, see [catalog price badges](https://storetoads.com/meta-catalog-price-badges/).

## What every good product ad gets right

- **The real product.** Every ad here uses the store's own product photo. Shoppers check that the thing in the ad is the thing that arrives.
- **One reason to buy.** Each ad picks one: a number, a fit, a detail, a review or a comparison. None tries all five.
- **A fact you can check.** 25 g of protein, 38 mm, 78% recycled nylon, 4.8 from 5,106 reviews. Specific numbers read faster than adjectives and match the product page.
- **The price, or the next step.** Most of these ads put the price on the button, so people know what tapping leads to.
- **Room for the product.** The product takes a third of the ad or more, and the copy stays short.

## Mistakes that make a product ad forgettable

- **A lifestyle photo where the product is a speck.** If you can't tell what's for sale in a second, it isn't a product ad.
- **A picture that isn't quite the product.** An image that looks close but shows a different label, color or shape breaks trust when the parcel arrives.
- **Claims your pages don't back.** 'Best seller' or 'clinically proven' needs proof on your own site first.
- **Every feature at once.** Eight features is a product page, not an ad.
- **No price and no next step.** People who are ready to buy shouldn't have to guess.

## How to make your own from these

1. Find your product type in the table at the top and note what to show first.
2. Check you have the photo for it: a clean packshot for 'the product is the headline', a lifestyle shot for 'worn, held or used', a sharp close-up for callouts.
3. Write the one line. If it isn't a fact from your product page, change it until it is.
4. Make three to five versions with different approaches and let them run against each other.

## Questions about product ads

**What are product ads?**

Ads that sell one specific product, with the product as the main image. They can run anywhere: Meta, Pinterest, Google, TikTok. The term is also used for Google Shopping ads, which are built from a product feed rather than designed.

**What are some examples of product ads?**

Every ad on this page: a protein powder ad led by '25g', sneakers on a cobbled street, a watch with labeled parts, a skillet with eggs sliding off, beeswax wraps compared with plastic wrap. All fifteen are for fictional brands.

**How do I make an ad for my product?**

Pick one reason to buy, use your real product photo large, add one fact or review that proves it, and end with the price or a single button. Make a few versions with different reasons and test them against each other.

**What is the difference between a product ad and product placement?**

A product ad is your own ad about your product. Product placement is when a product appears inside someone else's content, like a film, a show or a creator's video, usually for a fee.

**What makes a product ad good?**

The product is real and easy to see, the ad makes one point, a specific fact backs it up, and the next step is clear. The fifteen examples above each do those four things in a different way.

**Are these real ads?**

They are real outputs of our ad engine, made on October 17, 2026, for fictional brands from a product photo and made-up store data. They did not run for real companies.

**Can StoreToAds make product ads like these from my store?**

Yes. Paste your store link or pick a product. We design ads around your real product photo and check prices, ratings and quotes against your product pages. Each paid design comes in five sizes.
