# Food product ad prompts, tested on one hot sauce

Source: https://storetoads.com/ad-prompts/food/

Food is where image models look most convincing: steam, splashes, glossy tacos. That's exactly why the mistakes slip past. We ran five common food ad prompts for Pepperwick, a fictional small-batch hot sauce, and checked each result against the bottle and the recipe on its product page. The tacos were fine. The sauce was not always Pepperwick's.

*Updated October 17, 2026. Every prompt ran once on October 17, 2026, for a fictional brand. Nothing was retried or cherry-picked.*

## How do I write an AI prompt for a food product ad?

Attach a photo of your real pack and tell the model it can't change the label, cap or colour. Describe the dish or scene around it, give the recipe facts word for word, and forbid extra claims. When our prompts let the model describe the sauce, it changed how the peppers were made and added "100% natural".

## The five prompts, run for real

Pepperwick · Smoked Habanero Hot Sauce, 5 oz · $12 · 4.9 from 1,537 reviews · fictional

Pepperwick's product page: Smoked Habanero Hot Sauce, 5 oz glass bottle, $12. Habaneros fermented for 30 days, blended with smoked red peppers, roasted garlic, carrot and apple cider vinegar. Medium-hot, 6 out of 10. Vegan, gluten-free, no added sugar, rated 4.9 from 1,537 reviews. The packshot (a plain photo of the product alone) shows a woozy bottle with a red cap and a cream label. Prompts A to C ran without it; D and E had it attached.

![Pepperwick's product photo: Smoked Habanero Hot Sauce, 5 oz, the packshot attached to prompts D and E.](https://storetoads.com/samples/pepperwick.webp)

### Prompt A: The bold poster prompt

*ChatGPT-style prompt, no photo.* Brand, recipe, heat level, "fresh habaneros and flames": the hot sauce version of the poster prompts shared for ChatGPT.

> Create a bold Instagram ad for my hot sauce brand PEPPERWICK. Product: Smoked Habanero Hot Sauce, 5 oz glass bottle, habaneros fermented for 30 days with smoked red peppers and roasted garlic, heat level 6/10, vegan and gluten-free, $12. Show the bottle with fresh habaneros and flames. Include the brand name, product name, price and a "Shop now" button.

![AI output for the first prompt: a woozy bottle with a black cap and a black label reading Pepperwick Smoked Habanero, surrounded by flames, habaneros and roasted garlic, with heat 6/10, vegan and gluten-free icons, $12 and a Shop now button.](https://storetoads.com/prompts/food/A.webp)

**What went right**

- Heat 6/10, vegan, gluten-free, $12 and 5 fl oz (148 ml) all came out exactly as given.
- The props match the recipe: orange habaneros, charred red peppers, roasted garlic.

**What went wrong**

- The bottle wears a black cap and a black label. Pepperwick's has a red cap and a cream label, so a shopper scanning a shelf or a marketplace for this ad's bottle won't find it.
- The lines it wrote ("Ignite flavor. Fuel everything.", "Smoky. Bold. Unapologetic.") could sit on any hot sauce in the aisle.

**Could you run it?** Strong energy, accurate facts, wrong packaging. As an ad it sells a bottle that looks like a competitor's.

### Prompt B: The "three benefits" prompt

*Gemini-style prompt, no photo.* Asking the model to write the headline and benefits is how most "food ad prompt" templates end, and it hands over the recipe claims.

> Generate a food product advertisement for Pepperwick Smoked Habanero Hot Sauce ($12). Woozy glass bottle with a red cap and a cream label that says PEPPERWICK SMOKED HABANERO HOT SAUCE, next to tacos and orange habaneros. Write a catchy headline and three benefits, add "4.9 stars from 1,537 reviews" and the price. Hot, vibrant, appetizing.

![AI output for the second prompt: a hot sauce bottle with a black dripping wax cap and a cream label printed Pepperwick twice, beside tacos and habaneros, under the headline Unleash the fiery smoke. Crave the heat., with three benefits, 4.9 stars and $12.](https://storetoads.com/prompts/food/B.webp)

*Made with Nano Banana 2 (Gemini 3.1 Flash Image) (Google, through the OpenRouter API), October 17, 2026, for a fictional brand.*

Product changed · Text errors: 0 · Unasked details: 2

**What went right**

- The rating and review count are exactly as given, and so is the price.
- The tacos, limes and peppers look good enough to eat.

**What went wrong**

- It says the sauce is "Crafted with Fire-Roasted Habaneros". Pepperwick ferments its habaneros for 30 days; the smoke comes from the red peppers.
- "100% Natural, No Additives" is a claim the store never makes, and "natural" on food is a word regulators and shoppers both read closely.
- The red cap we asked for became a black dripping wax seal, and the brand name is printed twice on one label.

**Could you run it?** The image works and the facts don't: the one thing that makes this sauce different, the fermentation, got rewritten.

### Prompt C: The keyword food-photography prompt

*Midjourney-style keyword prompt, no photo.* Lists of "food product photography prompts" use this shape: subject, props, lighting, lens terms, then Midjourney flags.

> hot sauce product photography, tall woozy glass bottle with red cap, red-orange sauce, cream label reading "PEPPERWICK Smoked Habanero Hot Sauce", orange habanero peppers, smoke wisps, dark slate background, dramatic rim light, sauce splash, commercial food photography, photorealistic, 8k --ar 4:5 --v 7 --style raw

![AI output for the third prompt: a short, wide hot sauce bottle with a red cap and a cream label reading Pepperwick Smoked Habanero Hot Sauce in script, on dark slate with a sauce splash, smoke and orange habaneros, with no text around it.](https://storetoads.com/prompts/food/C.webp)

*Made with FLUX.2 Pro (Black Forest Labs, through Higgsfield), October 17, 2026, for a fictional brand.*

Product changed · Text errors: 0 · Unasked details: 0

**What went right**

- PEPPERWICK and Smoked Habanero are spelled correctly, and the cap is red as asked.
- The splash and smoke give it the drama food photography prompts promise.

**What went wrong**

- The bottle is squat and wide, not the tall woozy shape in the packshot, and the label lettering turned into a script.
- There's no price, line or button: it's a styled photo you would still have to turn into an ad.

**Could you run it?** A usable background mood. Not the product, and not an ad yet.

### Prompt D: ChatGPT with the bottle photo

*ChatGPT-style prompt with the product photo.* Upload the packshot, describe the table, give the lines: the workflow OpenAI documents for editing an uploaded image.

> Here is my product photo. Turn it into an Instagram ad for my hot sauce brand Pepperwick. Put the bottle on a wooden board next to street tacos and a few habaneros. Keep the bottle and label exactly as they are. Add the headline "Fermented 30 days. Heat 6/10.", "Vegan · gluten-free · no added sugar" and the price $12.

![AI output for the fourth prompt: Pepperwick's woozy bottle with its red cap and cream label on a wooden board beside street tacos and habaneros, under the headline Fermented 30 days. Heat 6/10., with vegan, gluten-free, no added sugar and $12.](https://storetoads.com/prompts/food/D.webp)

*Made with GPT Image 2.5 (OpenAI, through Higgsfield), October 17, 2026, for a fictional brand.*

Product kept · Text errors: 0 · Unasked details: 0

**What went right**

- The bottle matches the packshot: red cap, cream label, pepper drawing, 5 FL OZ (148 ml).
- Headline, diet line and price are word for word, and nothing was added to them.
- The tacos look like a real taco night, which is the use the store's reviews talk about.

**What went wrong**

- Nothing we could see. It is still a redrawn bottle rather than the original file, so check the label at full size before you run it.

**Could you run it?** Ready to run. The facts were right because we wrote them into the prompt; the model didn't check them against anything.

### Prompt E: Gemini with the bottle photo

*Gemini-style prompt with the product photo.* The "use this exact product" edit, with a hand pouring: the lifestyle shot (a photo of the product in use, in a real setting) food brands ask Nano Banana for most.

> Use this exact hot sauce bottle. Show a hand shaking a few drops onto a taco at a backyard barbecue. Do not change the bottle, the cap or the label. Add the text "Smoked Habanero, $12" at the top.

![AI output for the fifth prompt: a hand tilting the Pepperwick bottle so sauce drips onto a taco on a wooden plate at a backyard barbecue, under a black bar reading Smoked Habanero, $12.](https://storetoads.com/prompts/food/E.webp)

*Made with Nano Banana Pro (Gemini 3 Pro Image) (Google, through Higgsfield), October 17, 2026, for a fictional brand.*

Product kept · Text errors: 0 · Unasked details: 0

**What went right**

- The label survives the tilt: PEPPERWICK, the pepper drawing and SMOKED HABANERO read correctly.
- The hand, the drip and the grill smoke behind it look natural.
- The text is exactly the line we asked for.

**What went wrong**

- We asked for a few drops; it poured a steady stream. Few shoppers will notice, but it is not what the prompt said.

**Could you run it?** A good lifestyle frame for feeds. Put the price and proof somewhere else in the campaign.

## What the five runs show for food

The food itself was never the problem: every run produced tacos and peppers you'd want to eat. The packaging was. Without the photo, two runs changed the cap and label colours, and the third squashed the bottle.

The recipe was the bigger risk. The only run that wrote its own benefits swapped fermented habaneros for fire-roasted ones and called the sauce 100% natural. For a food brand, how it's made is the reason to buy, and the model treated it as decoration.

With the packshot, both tools kept the bottle and printed our lines as given. That covers one image. The 9:16 for Stories, the square for the shop feed and next month's flavour each start the process again.

Need lines and angles rather than prompts? Our [food product ad ideas](https://storetoads.com/ad-ideas/food/) work seven of them through for Pepperwick. Where the ads should run and what to spend is in [how to advertise food products](https://storetoads.com/how-to-advertise/food/).

## The same hot sauce, made by our engine

Our engine read Pepperwick's product page and reviews instead of a prompt, placed the packshot file as it is, and matched each fact on the ad against the page before delivery.

### Pepperwick: FERMENTED 30 DAYS.

![Orange Pepperwick ad: 'FERMENTED 30 DAYS. Worth the wait.' with a Smoked Habanero hot sauce bottle and two habaneros on taped paper, labels for vegan, smoked, 6/10 heat and 30 days, 4.9 from 1,537 reviews, and a $12 shop button.](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/pepperwick-06.webp)

*Fictional sample brand, made by our engine. Format: Annotated hero. Reason to buy: Transparency.*

The fermentation the second prompt rewrote is the headline here, with the heat level and the smoked red peppers called out on the bottle. Every callout (a label pointing at part of the product) is a line from the product page.

Store facts used: 30 days fermented, vegan, gluten-free, no added sugar, ingredients, 6/10 heat, 4.9 from 1,537 reviews, $12, free shipping over $40.

Matched by the fact check: $12, $40, 4.9 rating, 1,537 reviews, 30 days, vegan, gluten-free.

### Pepperwick: Look closer.

![Cream Pepperwick ad: 'Look closer.' in big red letters, with a zoomed circle on the bottle label showing Smoked Habanero Hot Sauce, 5 fl oz (148 ml), three callouts, a $12 shop button and 4.9 from 1,537 reviews.](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/pepperwick-01.webp)

*Fictional sample brand, made by our engine. Format: Look closer. Reason to buy: Transparency.*

The label zoomed in, because the bottle is the real file: nothing to redraw, so the small print reads exactly as it does in the shop.

Store facts used: Smoked habanero, fermented 30 days, 5 fl oz (148 ml), $12, 4.9 from 1,537 reviews.

Matched by the fact check: $12, 4.9 rating, 1,537 reviews, 30 days.

### Pepperwick: Taco night, handled.

![Dark brown Pepperwick ad: 'Taco night, handled.' with five orange stars, the quote 'The smoky finish is unreal on tacos.' from Hannah W., a Smoked Habanero bottle beside three grilled chicken tacos, 4.9 from 1,537 reviews and a 'Shop now, $12' button.](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/pepperwick-03.webp)

*Fictional sample brand, made by our engine. Format: Lifestyle type. Reason to buy: Ritual.*

The taco scene the prompts reached for, with a customer's own words about the smoky finish. The quote is verbatim from a review, which no image prompt can supply.

Store facts used: Smoked Habanero Hot Sauce, 5 oz, $12, 4.9 from 1,537 reviews, Hannah W. quote, smoked red peppers and roasted garlic, medium-hot 6/10.

Matched by the fact check: $12, 4.9 rating, 1,537 reviews, 5 oz, 1 review quote, word for word.

### The difference, side by side

| | Prompting an image model | Our engine |
| --- | --- | --- |
| The bottle and label | Redrawn on every run; colours and shape drift unless you attach the packshot | The packshot file itself, cut out and placed |
| How it's made | Rewritten when the model writes the copy (fire-roasted for fermented) | Taken from the product page and checked before delivery |
| Diet and "natural" claims | Added freely: 100% natural, no additives | Only what the store states; anything else is removed in a fix round |
| Formats | One image per prompt, each size generated again | Every ad in 4:5, 1:1, 9:16, 2:3 and 1.91:1 |
| New flavours and prices | New prompts and a fresh check each time | Read from the store on each weekly batch |

## A food prompt pack that starts from your pack photo

For bottles, jars, bags and boxes. Attach your own packshot, fill each [bracket] with the exact words from your product page, and keep the model away from writing claims.

### 1. The how-it's-made ad

When the process is the point: fermented, slow-roasted, small batch.

```
Use the attached photo of my [PRODUCT] exactly as it is: the same container shape, cap or lid, label colours and every word on the label. Place it on [SURFACE] next to [THE REAL INGREDIENTS FROM MY RECIPE]. Add only this text: headline "[PROCESS FACT, word for word from my page]", line "[DIET FACTS EXACTLY AS MY PAGE STATES THEM]", price "[PRICE]". No other words, badges or certifications. Portrait 4:5.
```

### 2. The dish ad

When customers buy it for one meal you can show.

```
Keep the attached product photo unchanged. Set it beside [THE DISH YOUR REVIEWS MENTION] on [TABLE OR BOARD], with the product sharp and the food slightly softer. Natural daylight from the left. No text on the image; I'll add it myself.
```

### 3. The heat or taste scale ad

For sauces, spices and anything people choose by intensity.

```
Use the attached bottle photo as it is, on the right half of a plain [COLOUR] background. On the left, draw a simple 1 to 10 scale with [YOUR LEVEL] marked, and the words "[YOUR SCALE LABEL, e.g. Heat 6/10]" and "[ONE TASTE NOTE FROM YOUR PAGE]". Flat graphic style, no flames, no other text.
```

### 4. The review ad

When a customer said it better.

```
Keep my product photo unchanged in the lower right. Above it, set this review word for word: "[REVIEW TEXT]" and "[RATING] stars from [REVIEW COUNT] reviews". Do not shorten or rephrase the review, and do not add stars or seals.
```

### 5. The label check

Before you download any food ad.

```
Read every word and number on the product label in your image and list them. Compare them with the label in the photo I attached and with this text: [YOUR LABEL TEXT]. List every difference, including net weight, cap colour and any new claims, then fix only those.
```

## Tips for each tool, for food products

### ChatGPT

- Give it the packshot and the recipe facts in quotes. In our run it kept the cap, label and every word, and invented nothing.
- If you let it write taglines, expect generic heat words. Write the line yourself from your product page instead.
- Food photographs well in every size, but the bottle gets redrawn each time; check the net weight on the label in every version.

### Gemini

- Upload the bottle and ask for a scene change only. Our Nano Banana Pro run kept the label readable even with the bottle tilted mid-pour.
- Watch the details of the action. We asked for a few drops and got a steady stream: fine for a mood shot, odd in a close-up.
- Don't ask it for benefits. In the run where we did, Nano Banana 2 rewrote how the peppers were made.

### Midjourney-style tools

- Keyword prompts are good at food styling: splashes, steam, smoke. They are bad at your container, which they have never seen.
- Midjourney reads parameters like --ar and --style raw at the end of a prompt (its docs). FLUX ignored them in our run.
- Use the result as a backdrop and put your real pack photo on top, rather than trusting the generated bottle.

## Questions about food product ad prompts

**What are some creative ideas for food ads?**

Show the dish people actually make with it, say how it's made in one line, and let a customer describe the taste. Our food product ad ideas page has seven worked examples for Pepperwick, each built on one fact or review.

**Is there a talking food reel prompt generator?**

There are tools that animate food characters, but a talking taco won't keep your label accurate. For a product reel, start from your real pack photo, move the camera rather than the product, and add the facts as text you control.

**Can ChatGPT make a food product ad?**

Yes. From a description, GPT-5.4 Image 2 gave Pepperwick's facts correctly but put the sauce in a black-labelled bottle. With the packshot attached, GPT Image 2.5 kept the bottle and printed our lines exactly. It doesn't check those lines against your recipe.

**Is the food in ads real?**

In traditional food photography it's usually real food, styled. In AI images nothing is real, including your packaging unless you supply the photo. For a product ad, keep the pack real and let the food around it be a styled scene.

**What are some good slogans for a hot sauce?**

Lines built on a fact beat lines built on fire: "Fermented 30 days", "Flavor first. Heat second.", a heat number, or the meal customers use it on. The slogans the models wrote for us ("Ignite flavor", "Crave the heat") would fit any bottle.

**Can I say "natural" in a food ad made with AI?**

Only if your product page says it and you can back it up. In our test, one model added "100% Natural, No Additives" to a sauce whose page says neither. Meta's advertising standards and US truth-in-advertising rules apply to the words on your ad, whoever generated them.

**Why did the AI change my bottle's cap and label?**

Without the photo it has never seen your bottle, so it draws one that fits your words, often in the darker colours common in its training images. With the photo attached, both models we tested kept the red cap and cream label.

**Will Meta label a food ad made with AI?**

It may. Meta (Facebook and Instagram) says it uses industry signals such as C2PA metadata to detect ad content made or edited with third-party generative AI tools and can show AI info on those ads.

**How do I advertise a food product online?**

Start with the meal it belongs to and one proof point, then test offers like bundles or free shipping thresholds. Our guide to advertising food products covers channels, a starting budget and how often to change the ads.

**Which prompt should a small food brand start with?**

The how-it's-made ad from the pack above, with your real packshot attached. It puts your process in the headline, which is the fact competitors can't copy, and keeps the model from describing the recipe itself.
