# Mattress ads for a bed nobody can lie on first

Source: https://storetoads.com/ad-ideas/mattresses/

Online, nobody gets to lie down on your mattress before paying a four-figure price. So every mattress ad has to stand in for the showroom: show what's inside, put the firmness on a scale, and make the home trial the safety net. Below are six ads our engine made for Lowmoon Sleep, a fictional boxed hybrid, and the proof each one needs from your store.

*Updated October 17, 2026. The sample ads are for a fictional brand, made by our engine.*

## What makes a good mattress ad?

A good mattress ad replaces the showroom test. It names the firmness on a scale, shows the layers that explain the feel, and puts the home trial and return terms where nobody can miss them. Add reviews about the worries buyers have (motion, heat, edges, setup) and show a sale price only if the old price was real.

## Six mattress ads for Lowmoon Sleep

Lowmoon Sleep is a fictional brand. Its product page: the Lowmoon Hybrid Mattress in Queen, 12 inches of individually wrapped coils under three foam layers, medium-firm (6 out of 10) for back, side and combination sleepers, a breathable knit cover and CertiPUR-US certified foams, delivered compressed in a box. $1,095, down from $1,295, rated 4.7 from 3,922 reviews, with free shipping and free returns, a 100-night home trial and a 10-year warranty. Every claim in the six ads comes from those facts or from four customer reviews.

### Lowmoon Sleep: Sleep on it. Literally.

![Dark navy bedroom photo, Lowmoon Sleep ad: 'Sleep on it. Literally.' over a Lowmoon mattress with a white comforter and a lit lamp. A '100-night home trial' note sits top right, with free shipping and free returns, 4.7 from 3,922 reviews and a 'Start your 100 nights' button.](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/lowmoon-01.webp)

*Fictional sample brand, made by our engine. Format: Lifestyle type. Reason to buy: Offer.*

Here the trial is the product. A shopper who can't test a bed in a store needs to hear first that they can test it at home, so 100 nights appears three times: the corner tag, the card and the button. The lamp-lit bedroom says the rest without a word about sleep quality.

Store facts used: 100-night home trial, free shipping, free returns, 4.7 from 3,922 reviews, Lowmoon Hybrid Mattress Queen.

Matched by the fact check: 4.7 rating, 3,922 reviews, free shipping.

### Lowmoon Sleep: Coils below. Cloud on top.

![Light gray Lowmoon Sleep ad: 'Coils below. Cloud on top.' with a navy and white hybrid mattress photo, four numbered callouts (strong edges, breathable knit cover, individually wrapped coils, 3 foam layers), 4.7 from 3,922 reviews and a 'See the Hybrid' button.](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/lowmoon-05.webp)

*Fictional sample brand, made by our engine. Format: Annotated hero. Reason to buy: Transparency.*

Numbered dots point at real parts of the mattress, so the photo does the explaining. The headline sums up the layers in four words, and the specs line says who it suits.

Store facts used: 12-inch hybrid, medium-firm, wrapped coils, 3 foam layers, knit cover, CertiPUR-US foams, 4.7 from 3,922 reviews.

Matched by the fact check: 4.7 rating, 3,922 reviews.

[The 2:3 Pinterest version](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/lowmoon-05-2x3.webp)

### Lowmoon Sleep: Unpopular opinion: firm and supportive are not the same thing.

![Dark navy Lowmoon Sleep ad: 'Unpopular opinion: firm and supportive are not the same thing.' with a photo of a navy and white mattress, a 5-star review from Kayla S., 4.7 from 3,922 reviews and a 'Try it for 100 nights' button.](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/lowmoon-03.webp)

*Fictional sample brand, made by our engine. Format: Unpopular opinion. Reason to buy: Benefit.*

Firmness is where mattress shoppers get stuck, because firm and supportive get used as if they meant the same thing. The ad pulls them apart in one line (coils for support, foam for cushion) and pins the feel to 6 out of 10, a number a buyer can hold up against the bed they sleep on now.

Store facts used: Wrapped coils, 3 foam layers, medium-firm 6 out of 10, 4.7 from 3,922 reviews, Kayla S. quote, 100-night trial.

Matched by the fact check: 4.7 rating, 3,922 reviews, 1 review quote, word for word.

[The 2:3 Pinterest version](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/lowmoon-03-2x3.webp)

### Lowmoon Sleep: Reviews from very rested people.

![Deep blue Lowmoon Sleep ad: 'Reviews from very rested people.' above four taped-note five-star quotes on support, motion, setup and edges, a gold 4.7 badge with 3,922 reviews, a navy mattress photo and a 'Try it for 100 nights' button.](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/lowmoon-06.webp)

*Fictional sample brand, made by our engine. Format: Review wall. Reason to buy: Social proof.*

Four reviews, four objections: too hard, a restless partner, a box that might not expand, edges that sag. A review wall earns its space when every quote answers a different worry, not when four people say they love it.

Store facts used: 4.7 rating, 3,922 reviews, four reviewer quotes (Kayla S., Ben R., Leah M., Omar K.), 100-night trial, Queen Hybrid Mattress.

Matched by the fact check: 4.7 rating, 3,922 reviews, 4 review quotes, word for word.

### Lowmoon Sleep: Look closer.

![Light grey grid Lowmoon Sleep ad: 'Look closer.' with a round close-up of a navy mattress side panel and knit top, a photo of the Queen Hybrid, three numbered callouts, a 'Shop the Hybrid' button and 4.7 from 3,922 reviews.](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/lowmoon-02.webp)

*Fictional sample brand, made by our engine. Format: Look closer. Reason to buy: Quality.*

The zoom sells the cover and the label, and the callout prints CertiPUR-US as "certified foams". That wording matters: the program certifies the foam, never the whole mattress.

Store facts used: Breathable knit cover, 12-inch hybrid, wrapped coils plus 3 foam layers, CertiPUR-US certified foams, 4.7 from 3,922 reviews.

Matched by the fact check: 4.7 rating, 3,922 reviews.

[The 2:3 Pinterest version](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/lowmoon-02-2x3.webp)

### Lowmoon Sleep: Try it at home for ____ nights before you decide.

![Mustard yellow Lowmoon Sleep ad: 'Try it at home for ____ nights before you decide.' with an empty box in the headline, answered by an oval note 'it's 100'. A navy Lowmoon Hybrid mattress, a $1295 crossed out and $1095 sticker, a 4.7 rating with 3,922 reviews and a 'Shop the Lowmoon Hybrid' button.](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/lowmoon-04.webp)

*Fictional sample brand, made by our engine. Format: Fill in the blank. Reason to buy: Offer.*

The one ad with the price drop, and it still keeps the trial bigger than the discount. To a nervous buyer, $200 off matters less than knowing the bed can go back. The crossed-out $1,295 has to be a price Lowmoon really charged (rules below).

Store facts used: 100-night home trial, free shipping and free returns, $1095, was $1295, 4.7 rating, 3,922 reviews, Queen size.

Matched by the fact check: $1295, $1095, 4.7 rating, 3,922 reviews, free shipping.

### The same ad in all five sizes

- [1:1](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/lowmoon-01-1x1.webp)
- [9:16](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/lowmoon-01-9x16.webp)
- [2:3](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/lowmoon-01-2x3.webp)
- [1.91:1](https://storetoads.com/samples/ads/lowmoon-01-1_91x1.webp)

The trial ad in all five sizes. Few people order a mattress the first time they see it, so the retargeting placements carry a lot of the work: the 1.91:1 for Google Display and the 9:16 story. In the tall crop the engine drops the bed lower so the headline sits on the dark wall, and the 100-night line stays in every size.

## Four reasons people order a mattress they've never touched

A mattress is a big purchase with a long life, and online it is bought blind. These are the four doubts every ad has to settle, each with the store fact that settles it.

### 1. A safe way to try it

It can't be tested in a store, and it costs more than most things people buy from an ad. The trial and the return terms decide whether ordering feels safe.

**Proof the ad needs:** The trial length and who pays for a return, worded exactly as your policy page says (Lowmoon: 100-night home trial, free shipping and free returns). If your policy has a minimum number of nights or a pickup fee, put it next to the claim.

### 2. A feel they can picture

Firmness is the first thing buyers ask about and the hardest thing to show in a photo. "Luxurious" doesn't help; a number and a sleeper type do.

**Proof the ad needs:** Your own firmness scale and who it suits (medium-firm, 6 out of 10, for back, side and combination sleepers), plus a review that describes the feel in plain words, like Kayla S.'s "supportive without feeling like a board".

### 3. What the money buys

Hybrid, pocketed coils, memory foam, latex: shoppers know the words but not what they do, and a $1,095 price needs an explanation they can see.

**Proof the ad needs:** Layer facts from your spec sheet (12 inches, wrapped coils, 3 foam layers, knit cover) pointed at the real mattress. Certifications only if you hold them, worded the way the certifier asks.

### 4. Nights that work for two

Many mattresses are bought for two people, so shoppers hunt for reviews about a partner's tossing, sleeping hot and edges they can sit on, more than for stars.

**Proof the ad needs:** Customer quotes, word for word with first names, each answering one of those worries (Ben R. on a restless partner, Omar K. on heat and edges), next to the rating and review count.

## Photo checklist for mattress ads

A mattress looks the same as every other white rectangle unless the photos show scale, layers and real use. Eight shots cover every ad on this page.

- **The made bed at a low angle in a real bedroom.** Shoot from slightly below the top surface so the side panel and the full 12 inches still show. A bed shot from above looks thin.
- **A cross-section or layer diagram.** The only honest way to show coils and foam. Use a real cut sample, or a diagram with exactly as many layers as you build.
- **Side panel, knit and label, close up.** Stitching and fabric are the quality proof at thumb size. Steam the cover first; wrinkles read as cheap.
- **A hand pressing into the top.** Shows give without claiming anything. Foam beds can show the print slowly filling back in.
- **Someone sitting on the edge.** Edge support is a common worry. A person sitting on the corner, feet on the floor, proves it faster than a callout.
- **The box at the door, then the bed expanding.** Boxed delivery is a buying reason in itself. Three frames from box to full height answer the stairs question and the will-it-expand question.
- **Two people, two sleep positions, fully clothed.** One on a side, one on the back shows who it suits without words. Keep it calm and ordinary: it's a bed ad, not a romance.
- **Morning light on a slept-in bed.** A rumpled duvet reads as real life. Pair it with a review about sleeping through the night.

## Mattress ad copy lines you can adapt

Each line handles one doubt. Swap in your own numbers and terms; every claim has to match your policy pages, your spec sheet or a real review.

- **Sleep on it. For 100 nights.** The trial as the headline. Use your exact trial length.
- **Medium-firm. 6 out of 10. Back, side or combination.** The feel as a number and who it suits, from your own scale.
- **Coils for support. Foam for cushion.** A hybrid explained in six words.
- **Arrives in a box. Fully expanded by bedtime.** Only with a review that says so, like Leah M.'s.
- **"My partner tosses all night and I don't feel a thing."** Quoted exactly, with Ben R.'s name. Don't rewrite it as your own promise.
- **$1,095. Was $1,295.** Only if $1,295 was a real, recent selling price.
- **Free shipping. Free returns. No showroom.** Every free has to hold with no conditions hidden.
- **10-year warranty. Read the full terms before you buy.** The warranty line with the pointer to the written terms that the FTC's warranty guides ask for.
- **Try it at home. Decide in spring.** For a December ad, when 100 nights runs into March.

### Lines to keep out of mattress ads

| Avoid | Why | Say instead |
| --- | --- | --- |
| "Ends back pain" | A health claim that needs competent and reliable scientific evidence, and Meta's Advertising Standards don't allow ads that assert or imply a person's health condition ("Waking up stiff?"). | "Medium-firm, 6 out of 10, for back and side sleepers." |
| "Non-toxic", "chemical-free" or "no off-gassing" | In 2013 the FTC barred three mattress companies from claims like VOC-free, chemical-free and odor-free without scientific evidence behind them. | "Made with CertiPUR-US certified foams", if your foams are certified. |
| "CertiPUR-US certified mattress" | The program certifies foam only and tells brands to make that clear, and it asks for marketing to be sent for approval before it runs. | "Made with CertiPUR-US certified foams." |
| "Sale ends tonight!" on a sale that never ends | A countdown that resets is fake urgency, and a former price you never really charged is deceptive under the FTC's pricing guides. | A real end date and a former price from your own sales history. |
| "The #1 mattress" | A ranking claim needs data you can produce if a competitor or regulator asks for it. | "4.7 from 3,922 reviews." |

## Mattress claims: health, chemicals, certifications and prices

Mattresses aren't a restricted category on Meta, Google or Pinterest. The trouble starts with four kinds of claims.

- **Health.** Back pain, snoring, deeper sleep: each is a health claim that needs scientific evidence under the FTC's health products guidance. Meta also doesn't allow ads that assert or imply a personal health condition, so "Tired of waking up sore?" is out and "Medium-firm for back sleepers" is fine.
- **Chemicals and smell.** In July 2013 the FTC settled with three mattress makers over unsupported claims that their beds were free of volatile organic compounds, chemical-free or odor-free. A "non-toxic" claim needs competent and reliable scientific evidence too (Green Guides, 16 CFR 260.10).
- **Certifications.** CertiPUR-US certifies foam, not mattresses. Its rules for brands: register as a participating company, make clear only the foam is certified, don't over-claim, and send marketing to the program for approval before it runs. Any other certification mark comes with its owner's rules; use one only with the certificate in hand.
- **Sale prices and "free".** Under the FTC's pricing guides a "was" price must be one you offered openly and in good faith for a reasonable time, so a sale that never ends leaves no real former price to compare with. The FTC's guide to the word "free" says every condition of a free offer belongs at the outset, so free returns with a pickup fee have to say so.

> Warranties: when an ad mentions the 10-year warranty, the FTC's warranty guides say it should also tell shoppers how they can see the full written warranty before buying. Online, link the warranty page from the landing page and say so in the ad.

## Trial, returns, warranty, sale: what each line promises

Mattress ads lean on four short phrases, and each one makes a promise bigger than its word count. Before an ad runs, check every phrase against what your policy pages actually say.

| On the ad | What the shopper assumes | What has to be true |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 100-night home trial | Any night in those 100, they can send it back | Your policy allows it. A minimum stay (say, 30 nights) or a donation-only return goes next to the claim. |
| Free returns | Sending it back costs nothing, pickup included | No pickup, restocking or disposal fee. Any fee is a condition of the free offer and belongs up front. |
| Free shipping | Delivery to their door at no charge | True for every address you sell to. Exclusions (Alaska, Hawaii, white-glove setup) are stated. |
| 10-year warranty | Ten years of full cover | The written warranty says so, and the ad points to where it can be read before buying. |
| $1,095, was $1,295 | The bed normally sells for $1,295 | You sold it at $1,295 openly and in good faith, recently enough to matter, and kept the records. |
*The right-hand column comes from the FTC's guides on pricing, free offers and warranties (sources below).*

One practical habit: write the trial and return terms once, in plain words, and paste the same sentence into every ad's landing page. Mattress complaints often start with a term the buyer never saw.

## The mattress calendar: sale weekends, 2026 to 2027

Mattresses sell all year, but the category runs on US holiday sale weekends. Have each one's ads made and approved two to three weeks ahead, so they clear review and the ad set settles before the weekend.

| When | Sale moment | What to run |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Oct 26 to Nov 1, 2026 | Clocks go back (Sun, Nov 1) | "An extra hour in bed" is a light hook for the last week of October. Lead with the trial, not a discount. |
| Nov 27 to 30, 2026 | Black Friday to Cyber Monday | A bundle (pillow or protector with the bed) keeps the offer simple. [Black Friday ad ideas](https://storetoads.com/ad-ideas/black-friday/) has the dated upload plan. |
| Dec 26, 2026 to Jan 10, 2027 | New year, new bed | Gift money and fresh starts. Keep the copy about the bed, never about fixing the viewer's sleep. |
| Feb 12 to 15, 2027 | Presidents' Day weekend (Mon, Feb 15) | A traditional US mattress sale weekend. If you run a sale, end it when the ad says it ends. |
| Mar 14, 2027 | Clocks go forward | An hour less sleep: a playful ad for the week after, with the trial. |
| May 28 to 31, 2027 | Memorial Day weekend (Mon, May 31) | The second big sale weekend. Price drop and trial in the same ad. |
| June to August 2027 | Moving season | New homes need beds. The box-at-the-door ad and the narrow-stairs question work here. |
| Jul 2 to 5, 2027 | Fourth of July (Sun, Jul 4) | A short sale window, with a real end date in the ad. |
| Sep 3 to 6, 2027 | Labor Day weekend (Mon, Sep 6) | The last sale weekend before Black Friday. Review walls do well with buyers who have been comparing all summer. |

## What people ask about mattress ads

**What are some catchy slogans for mattresses?**

Lines that turn a doubt into a promise you can keep: "Sleep on it. For 100 nights.", "Coils for support. Foam for cushion.", "Reviews from very rested people." Slogans built on "dream" and "cloud" are everywhere already; a number, a trial or a customer's words stand out more.

**How do you advertise a mattress online?**

Make one ad for each doubt: the trial, the firmness, what's inside, and reviews about motion, heat and edges. Show the real mattress in every one, put the price where your sales history supports it, and keep retargeting people for a few weeks, because few buy a mattress the first time they see it.

**What are good mattress advertising ideas?**

A fill-in-the-blank on the trial length, a myth-versus-fact on firm versus supportive, a review wall where each quote answers a different worry, a cutaway with numbered layers, and a box-to-bed sequence for boxed mattresses. All of them work as static ads.

**How do I advertise a mattress sale on Facebook?**

Make the sale ads two to three weeks before the weekend so they clear review, then show the sale price beside the former price only if you really sold at that price recently. Keep the trial on the sale ad too, and stop the ads when the sale ends.

**Should mattress ads show the price?**

Usually yes for online brands. A visible price filters out people who expect a $300 bed and reassures the rest, especially next to the trial. A former price is only safe when it is real and recent.

**Can a mattress ad say it helps with back pain?**

Only with competent and reliable scientific evidence for that exact claim, and Meta still won't allow wording that assumes the viewer has a health condition. Firmness, sleeper type and customer reviews about comfort carry the same message without the risk.

**Can I say my mattress is non-toxic?**

Not without scientific evidence. The FTC has acted against mattress companies for VOC-free, chemical-free and odor-free claims they couldn't support. If your foams are certified, "made with CertiPUR-US certified foams" says something true and checkable.

**How should a mattress ad mention CertiPUR-US?**

Say the foams are certified, not the mattress: "made with CertiPUR-US certified foams". The program asks brands to register, take its short course, avoid over-claiming and send marketing for approval before it runs.

**Are there any mattress ads on TV?**

Plenty. Big mattress brands and store chains run TV spots most of the year, and iSpot.tv keeps an archive of them. A small online brand rarely needs TV to start: static ads in feeds and stories, Pinterest pins and retargeting do the same jobs at budgets you can test.

**What is the number one selling mattress on the market?**

Brands that claim number one each define it their own way (a category, a retailer, a year), which is why the question has no single answer. In your own ads, use a ranking only if you can back it with data; a rating and a review count say more with less risk.

**What mattress ads work on Pinterest?**

Pins that show a finished bedroom with the bed made up, a layer diagram and a how-it-arrives sequence. People plan rooms there, so the 2:3 version should show the bed in a room, with the firmness and the trial in one line of text.

**Do funny mattress ads work?**

Light humor suits the category because everyone knows what a bad night feels like. "Sleep on it. Literally." and "Reviews from very rested people." are both small jokes that still carry a fact. Keep the joke on sleep and the product, never on someone's body or health.
